I know that’s the millionth entry with that title but giving up isn’t the solution either is it? Winter and Christmas has loosened my control immensely and I’m grateful the damage isn’t worse! My target was to reach 74kg by my birthday. Seeing how that is 4 months and 12kg away I think it’s a tad ambitious but worth a go.

Well the trip to Hungary meant my weight shot up to 86.1kg on the Monday of this week. So I really tried to control my food intake to try and get it down by Saturday. I couldn’t do any exercise because of a really nasty cough but I guess the food control helped because I have managed to lose the extra I gained in Hungary plus a bit more. Hopefully next week I can get the exercise going as well.

I always start out doing well at losing weight but I quickly lose focus and put it all on again with interest. I’ve been struggling for the past month and a half to keep focused and have ended up gaining back 2 kg and almost totally giving up my healthy eating and exercising habits. I will be 30 in just over 6 months and there are so many things I wanted to do before I was 30 – I know it’s probably impossible to achieve everything I intended to but I have identified 3 things and I am determined to hit the ‘Done this’ button before my birthday for all of them.
This goal is the top priority one. My ideal weight is apparently 68kg. I haven’t been that weight since I was 15 and I don’t know if it is possible for me to get down to that again especially if my target is my birthday. I was 74 kg when I got married and I would be happy to get back to that size. So my target is to get to 74kg by my 30th birthday. I will report in every Monday about how my Saturday weigh in went. Since I’m going on holiday this weekend, I did my weigh in today – here are the results:

Well my last resolution didn’t last very long! I sort of abandoned 43things and went off and put on lots more weight. At my heaviest (on 5th March 2008), I weighed 92.9kg (14st 9lb). a visit to the doctor soon after that really scared me. My husband and I were both diagnosed with high cholesterol and high blood pressure. In addition, he has diabetes. He was put on medication and both of us were told to lose weight on an urgent basis. The doctor said if I hadn’t lost a significant amount of weight in a year (thereby lowering my cholesterol), he would have to put me on medication too.
Since then, we’ve been trying really hard and have had pretty good results. My husband especially is doing really well. He’s lost 10kg and his BMI has dropped from nearly obese to mid-range overweight. His blood pressure is now under control without medication.
Me, I’ve had a harder time since I tend to lose focus thereby wiping out my hard work. Still, I’ve lost close to 5 kg – I had lost over 5kg but gained a bit back last week. Still, I’m being very good this week and have hope that the Saturday weigh in will not be too bad.

I have these phases when I abandon all my good resolutions and 43 things for a while and come back in worse shape than ever on all fronts. I’ve just had one of these and now it’s time to gird up my loins and attack all my noble plans again.
The weight has gone up again and Weightwatchers has been abandoned. I might go back eventually but it’s just too expensive for the value it offers, which is essentially nothing. I ave my own weighing scale and I have all the literature so I’m going to go it on my own for a while.
Having said that I haven’t been doing a very good job on my own – though thats a lack of willpower not a lack of Weight watchers.
I will start again now and try to stay on track.

Still no change at this week’s Weightwatchers. Though I have to admit, I kind of lost the plot for a while. But this week, I’m being really careful. Yesterday I went to Chinese buffet for lunch with my husband but I skipped dinner and I was very good on Thursday and Friday and I have been today as well. I’m deter,ined to have shifted some weight by this Thursday’s meeting. Thanks to everyone who gave me tips on handling my chocolate problem. I’m using them all!

I was hoping I’d lose at least a pound last week but at yesterday’s Weightwatchers meeting there was no change in my weight. My trouble is really the chocolates at work. There are donuts and chocolates passed around literally every day and I do love them so. I simply cannot resist. I’m planning my meals around my points allowance, eating healthy, and trying to everything right but those damn chocolates ruin it for me everytime. Any tips would really help.

Well after a glorious no-holds-barred wedding anniversary in Edinburgh last weekend, I expected my weight to shoot up but surprisingly it hasn’t. I’m back on Weightwatchers and trying to stay within my points allowance. It isn’t easy because chocolates abound at my new job but I’m trying to resist and when I can’t I include them in my points allowance. I’m also setting up a new challenge to lose 7 pounds by the end of April – it’s my birthday then.

Valentine’s day and this goal goes out the window! I’m not meeting this personal challenge thats for sure. So I’ll be giving up desserts, chocolates etc. till I do manage to lose 8 pounds.

Ok, today was my first WW meeting after the chicken pox and the good news is I didn’t put on any weight. In fact I lost a bit though not enough to make my challenge very doable. I have to lose 5.5 pounds in 3 weeks which means almost 2 pounds a week. It will mean a lot of self-discipline but I know I can do it.
