I do tend to start projects with great enthusiasm and then abandon them halfway. But it’s a bad habit and I must restart my crossstitch. What I will do, is do it while I’m listening to my Harry Potter audiobooks. Starting today.

Chicken pox 2 years ago

Anyone who’s been reading my entries on other goals knows that chicken pox has made me a raving lunatic because I haven’t been able to do anything besides watch TV and read ad surf the net. Which is fun for a few days but so frustrating after that. I haven’t been able to sew because of the pox on my hands and fingers. But I am now nearly ok and yesterday I attempted to do a bit. It’s a complicated part of the design so I didn’t get that much done but I did do a bit so yay! Back to my 15 mins a day resolution.

Going well 2 years ago

I’ve been sticking to this quite well. I finished a big chunk last night and have begun a new colour now.

yay! 2 years ago

Have spent some time on it 3rd day running! Earlier I used to put in 3-4 hours once a month or something so I’m used to seeing it grow much faster on any particular day. 15 mins a day is almost imperceptible in terms of seeing the project grow but I know it will add up over time and I will finish it! Here’s to sticking to it!

Proud of myself 2 years ago

Was exhausted yesterday by bedtime but still did 20 minutes worth of work on my cross stitch. Today I also signed up with a sewing meetup group – don’t know if I’ll actually go to any meetings but I will try.

15 mins a day 2 years ago

Someone left a comment on my last post suggesting I put in 15 minutes a day and I think thats a great idea. Even though I’m exhausted with work and caring for a husband with chicken pox I’m going to make sure I make 15 mins to put into this today. It isn’t a lot of time and it will slowly help me finish my project.

P.S. – Despite being completely and utterly exhausted I managed to put in a few minutes before bed. Only about 20 stitches but stich by stitch I will get there.

After a long long time 2 years ago

I used to cross stitch as a little girl but its been at least 15 years since I completed a project and I’ve never actually attempted anything more than easy projects on my own.

Recently I invested in a cross stitch kit and I’m having a hard time with it because it’s so much bigger and more complicated than anything I’ve ever done before.

I need to find the time and commitment to finish this and I think writing on here may help.
