I participated in a 10-day Vipassana course as taught by S.N.Goenka early September. Since then I’ve been doing my best to continue to practice 1 hour each morning and evening as recommended. So I guess I’m back on track with this goal.

Meditation is about mindfulness, so a daily practice in that sense, even for limited amount of time is a good thing.
I got discouraged and failed this goal long ago, but recently at my Japanese calligraphy class I remembered something and I think I’m back on track..
What I noticed is as you put the brush to the paper, you need to SLOW DOWN a lot ! That’s why even the ‘sensei’, everytime she puts down the brush on the paper, she does this long breathing out..
That’s how you can step down these train of thoughts before they take you too far and you forget your count, that’s how you can build concentration and attention to the moment. If you’re already thinking of the next breath before you have finished breathing out, you’re running !
Slow down !!!
