Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

things i’m grateful for (a big list to compensate for my laziness):

-my mum’s food, ahh home comforts are soo good when you’ve been living in Carbville eating bowls and bowls of pasta as a student
- my health, i suppose i underrate it!
- the beautiful van gogh poster in my room, it brightens up the place a little
- the nice girl i met on a train the other day,it’s amazing how you can just connect with someone in such an ambiguous way, we chatted non stop for 2 hours
- that after essay night, i have some free time and a cocktail party to be excited about
- my mum planning to bring me lots of goodies from India when she makes a trip this month

ahh i have nothing else, i’m sure it’s just uni blues getting to me x

I feel so wretched today, but perhaps that’s why I should do this right now

1) I am grateful that I believe that justice always prevails, not in the way you might expect it to, but inevitably good things come to good people and the bad get their comeuppance, it just has to!
2) I am grateful that I have a best friend who knows straight
away when I need her
3) I am grateful that sometimes acknowledging a heartache can release you from it
4) I am grateful that I’m not perfect, I grow every day from the imperfections
5)I am grateful that I have tomorrow; hopefully it will be better

1) For my new topshop shoes- they are cute and buckled and make me feel like a child
2) For my mango yoghurt and tea, it’s all about simple pleasures :)
3) That my friend loved and appreciated the card I made for her
4) That my other friend is going home to spend time with her family, she’s been really stressed lately and I think the time away from uni will give her some breathing space
5) That I feel pretty good,no complaints today, it’s certainly something to be grateful for :)

1) That my essay was done, finished and I at least feigned a thorough knowledge of the Cold War
2) That I had some art-and-craft time today, I forgot the childhood joys of cutting and sticking :)
3) That I had a really amazing chat with my friend Leo, I feel like someone knows better why I am the way I am
4) That I am quite calm; uni life seems to be better in perspective today
5) Amazing friends

Feeling better already x

For yesterday, today was not good, so I will start afresh on monday:

1) Friends who make me noodles when I am sleepy and too stressed to cook
2) Amazingly talented people; they make we want to aim higher
3) Banana pancakes, they are comforting, delicious and easy to make
4) My belief that I will make it through those tough days, those moments where fear and self doubt are so invasive and penetrating that you are practically stultified
5) My belief that I won’t compromise the person who I am to make myself feel better

For yesterday

1) I am grateful for my housemates, that we threw a wonderful party for my housemate’s 20th birthday and that everyone loved our homely and sweet student house
2) For the sweet man who smiled at me whilst we were crossing on the street and then looked back after me as i walked on :)
3) For my friend’s taste in high-tempo Spanish music, I was enjoying bopping around the kitchen eating cake mixture for my friend’s birthday
4) For my new make up kit, I had red lips and smoky eyes and I was complimented on my new look
5) For the generally lovely time I had at the party until I was so pooped I had to go to bed at 12.30 ahh student life

1) I’m grateful for mango strips- they are the most delicious yet bizarre things I’ve ever tried, I fully recommend buying some, go to a health food store for them though, the supermarket ones are more juicy but laced in sugar
2) I’m grateful for my housemates, we snuggled in bed watching a movie and eating strawberries, after one of them made me pasta with pesto, goats cheese and tomato :) wonderful, wonderful people
3) I’m grateful that my tutor liked my French comedy essay and that my tutorial was so much fun, Moliere is a genius
4) I’m grateful that I can lie in as I have no classes tomorrow
5) I’m grateful that I am actually looking forward to reading about the Cold War for my next essay, it makes me hopeful that I won’t lose the will to live 200 pages into a dreary 500 page book

1) I’m grateful that someone on here appreciated my tea drinking and joni mitchell listening :)
2) I’m grateful that student cooking can be fun and nutritous- salmon, rice and steamed vegetables whilst bopping around to some camera obscura
3) I’m grateful hat I was not outside whilst it was raining and inside i could just listen to the nice sound of it
4) I’m grateful that my history tutor enjoys chatting with me when I bump into him
5) I’m gratful that my mint tea was just perfect today, nice strength, nice sweetness, good tea is wonderful :)

1) Having a cup of tea whilst listening to Joni Mitchell
2) My essay was completed and handed in, perhaps not all that good, but it is done
3) My two new tops from Gap that I got in the sale
4) A rose on my neighbours’ rose bush that is surviving despite torrential rain and not even a hint of sunshine
5) Having parents that care enough to call, worry, moan, complain and check in so that they always catch me when I need them

Feel better already :)
