start saving money for future expenditures

Well, I’ve got more than half the money I need for the big trip next December. I’ve developed strategies for savings. Even though prices of gas and food keep rising, I work hard on spending less and less. I try to drive as little as possible by combining trips or staying put. We only go out to eat once a week, and then to very inexpensive places. I also stick money left over after paying the bills right into my savings, before I spend it.

Well, I’ve put money down on the big trip to Australia and NZ next year, so there is no turning back. Gotta save up at least 9000 dollars more, hopefully more, since we’ll need spending money while we’re traveling. So far, in just the first month, I’ve put 1800 dollars in the special account. YAY~
