go back to school

So I’m back in school. I have one semester to go in order to graduate from the cosmetology program. Once I am done at CCC&TI I will be transferring back to WPCC to finish what I started there so that I can continue on to the next thing I want to do. But that should all be easier now that I am back in school and motivated to get it done. I think I will mark this off my list for now. Cheers!

I attended my first day of class today. It is quite a bit different than when I was there last… I spoke with my boss but will have to call her again tomorrow as no final arrangements have been made. I got my student ID badge made but I couldn’t find my old books. That wasn’t a big shock though… I purchased new books and a new kit and picked up the paperwork to fill out for a parking permit. I will turn that in tomorrow or Monday.

Tuesday morning my financial aid arrived. I registered for my classes and they start this afternoon. I still have to make arrangements about my schedule at work, get a student ID badge, find my books, buy supplies, and get a parking permit. I’m sure there are other things that need seeing to as well but I guess I will deal with that as they arise. Right now I am going to call my boss and discuss the situation with her.

...doesn’t want to award financial aid to cosmetology students. I can’t afford to pay for it on my own. I’m supposed to register Tuesday. I don’t know what to do…......

...it look like a couple of slots have opened up for the class schedule that I originally wanted. I’m supposed to go register on August 16. Yay.

it looks like the schedule that I wanted is full. I will know (hopefully) in a few days if there are ANY slots open for me. Crap.

Went to the school to speak with advisers and instructors. They are waiting to see if there is a slot open in the class that I need to take. I will know after the current students are done with registration whether I can register or not. Can’t worry about financial aid & supplies until I know that much…

I applied for re-admission to the school that I was going to last year.

I checked the status of my classes. The credit hours have not expired or anything so I can pick up where I left off.

I got a price list from the book store on everything needed for my classes in case I can’t put my hands on my old supplies.

I tried to meet with my adviser to get the flag removed from my account and get enrolled but she left while I was on my way from the lobby to her office. So I tried calling today and have received no answer or call back.

Tomorrow I will try again to meet with someone. Once I am enrolled I will speak with someone at Financial Aid to see what needs to be done in order to pay tuition. If I can’t get enrolled for this semester, then I will decide if I am going to a different school or if I am waiting until Spring 2012. Wish me luck…?

...my FAFSA. Now to meet with advisors and see which school I will be going to and for how long. The idea right now is to finish my cosmetology program so that I can get certified for that and move on to the next goal.

All I have left in my cosmetology program is to take my final exam. Then I will be finished and be able to transfer to a different school and begin another program. I guess I have officially gone back to school…? Haha.
