Become an alternative model.

This entry is long overdue. I have been pretty successful thus far with modeling and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon. I have had about six shoots since I started less than two months ago. I don’t have much time to type a long entry at the moment. I am preparing for a shoot tomorrow. It is at 9am after a two hour drive. Eek. Wish me luck.

So I have had two photo shoots with “real” photographers (no offense stephanie)in the last couple of weeks. I am having a mini shoot on Saturday and I have a few more booked for the next few weeks. And Stephanie and I have one next week as well. I feel pretty confident about the ones that I have done so far and I can’t wait to see pictures.

the contest ends tomorrow night…i have been #1 for a good portion of the running…and i have never left the top three…i take that as a good sign…(inserts smiley face here)...we will find out the winner at five pm on friday…i simply can not wait…

one of my photographers had to cancel…poor guy…his house was robbed and his camera(s) were stolen…hopefully he will get the whole ordeal settled…i feel so bad for him…

on a brighter note…a photographer who is from georgia is passing through in a couple of weeks and wants to take the opportunity to shoot with me…i have to speak with my assistant but hopefully i will be able to take him up on his offer…

Okay so I am taking a couple of weeks off to TRY to get my new tattoo…and then I have five photo shoots booked in the following five weeks…I really do not want to do more than one shoot a week because a)cant afford the gas b)assistant cant afford to miss work c)my full time job d)one car and husband has full time school…i am hoping to be able to take care of a couple of those things this summer…i will begin asking for compensation for traveling expenses if these next few photo shoots go well…and also my husband will not have school during the summer…so that only leaves mine and my assistant’s jobs to work around…

i am really trying to prepare for these shoots…i am making sure to wash my face EVERY DAY…not every couple of days when i feel like it…i am making plans to rejoin curves to tone up my body…and it isnt just the skin on my face…i am trying to really take care of the skin all over my body…lotion exfoliate etc…

i need to buy a makeup kit of some kind and start trying to learn interesting ways to apply makeup…i am sure that tfcd photographers are not going to provide a hair stylist and MUA so i need to be on top of my game in those respects…i also really want to get a full head of synthetic dreadlock extensions made in time for a couple of the photo shoots…(whichever photographers think that look would work for their portfolio…)...which means getting back to work making those!!...

EDIT…Stephanie and i went out and practiced the whole photo shoot thing today…i tried to practice posing…we attempted working with an animal (Rosey <3)...she tried to get some interesting angles...and we are working on some photoshopping stuff...it was a pretty big day and also fairly successful minus the fact that by the time i was practicing poses the sun was setting (bad lighting) and i was freezing (bad poses/faces)...but those are the kinds of things that i need to get used to...uncomfortable positions and freezing my butt off...

and it never fails to start raining while we are finishing up a session…at least it waits till we are finishing!!

well…i am currently in the process of booking two photo shoots within the next few weeks…tfcd work right now of course but work is work and it will help me improve…i honestly can not even believe people are contacting me for shoots…this is amazing…i had my first photo shoot less than a week ago and i have already had four offers (two of which i am definitely accepting) and am not doing too bad in that contest i entered…wish me luck!!

well…i have entered a contest on myspace.com…sounds silly right?...well the contest is through a little company that i absolutely LOVE called Sweet Jane’s Chains…let me tell you…this girl’s jewelry is AMAZING…anyways…she is having a contest for her first OPG (official pinup girl) and letting her myspace friends vote for girls by posting comments on their pictures…

i had my first two photoshoots this week…it was pretty great considering the fact that an amateur photographer was shooting an amateur model and we actually turned out several decent photos…I am very proud of my first effort and can not wait to expand upon it…Hopefully i can get a couple more shoots under my belt and begin building a portfolio soon…...I am not expecting a career out of this…or even a part time job…I am really just looking to have fun and take some beautiful photos while I am at it…and i think that anyone who wants to do it but has put it off for trivial reasons should just get out there and go for it!!...as long as you have the right attitude and the right chemistry with your photographer you will not regret it!!...
