I completed this goal in December! The whole loan is paid off and I am pumped. I was putting up to 2,000 dollars to it a month and now that it is paid that keeps coming in my paycheck and I don’t have to give it to anyone! I love it and can say this goal was DEFINITELY worth doing.

Am down to 2,769.54! In a matter of months this baby will be paid off! Too bad I am now considering getting my doctorate which will require taking out some new loans…I can’t win.
A little over 5,000 to go and my loan is paid off. If I paid 1,000 or more a month I will be able to meet my challenge that I set. It was great during my maternity that I was able to work and put money towards it. I am proud of myself.

As of today I owe 10,212.04.
Gs going through financial crisis and I need to pitch in money for 2 kids bedrooms so I know I will lose a good chunk of money to that. I may not make this financial goal by next year, considering I will also be on maternity leave. But you never know. If not, at least I can put in my best effort and make decent head way in a years time, even if I don’t pay off every dollar of it.
Already this challenge process is helpful. I’m already thinking ahead more to how I am going to make sure I complete this goal. I am having a baby in April so can count on at least four months of low to no income so that is a challenge. And I really want to buy things for the house since that is also one of my goals. Ideas: sell wedding ring, ebay/sell books/stuff in house, create a budget to cut costs, work as many hours as I can…
I set a goal last year that I would pay 7000 to my student loan this year. Well, just paid my November installment and hit the 7000! One month early. I don’t believe that I have ever accomplished a new years resolution ever! First big milestone in paying this baby off! Second milestone: from December 2006 to November 2007 to pay 8,000. I did recently get a raise, but just started having 401K deductions taken out of my paycheck so hope it won’t be that much harder. I am sooo proud of myself!!!! Yah!
