I had a really rough day today. So I thought now would probably be an appropriate time to try and think of things that make me feel good. Hopefully it’ll help me remember why I keep going even when life is tough. We had a huge snow storm this afternoon. I live in a suburban area and the trees are just gorgeous. The snow hangs on them making the branches look heavy. White encompasses everything. When I walk outside I feel like I am standing in the middle of a vast snow globe. The sky is taken up with snow and fog which hangs near the ground, so much so that the end of the streets are barely visible. Snow flutters mystically around in the air and normal everyday things become soft and quiet. I love that feeling. It’s as if I’m alone in the world and since its so quiet I’m validated in that moment of peace. No expectations, no voices, no traffic, or obligations just me and the snow falling to the ground. Until I get too cold and have to go inside of course but the moment was nice anyway.
Chatting, or whatever with someone I know I’m safe with. It takes me forever to have enough confidance in someone to know that I can open up and be safe around them. I’ve found quite a few of those people lately. That definitely makes me happy.
69. Doing crazy flips and dives into the pool outside. Going down the slide backwards head first and back flopping into the water. Pushing the limits of what I know I can do. Risking my life (sarcasm) with a front flip off the diving board. And floating around in the water looking at the greenest of trees and the water around me while I listen to the silence of a storm about to roll in.
70. Knowing that even if I’m sad now everything is fleeting and one day it will pass and I will be happy again.
71. Finding that someone left me a message or wrote me a letter and knowing that they were thinking of me even for a brief moment.
72. Keeping my options open and not being stuck to one job, school, career, or life.
73. A well deserved day off.
74. A clean house, apt, room, or whatever.
75. A good work out.
