at the edge of the ocean, just the edges
and no more deeper,
we swam our skins out to sunburn our souls..
at the edge of the ocean, just the sides
and no more deeper,
we touch the softsand bed with our bruisedup toes..
from four in the afternoon, i untie-d my white shirt,
holding out a piece of my heart to a boy with a funky face,
not even she knew about..
at five i tasted the salty sea – almost forgot what it tasted like -
and it tasted like salty lassi when i’m feeling free..
we swamwalked to the other side, talking of
pagans and eagles and for some, it was life.
we looked and glanced -eyes at a trance;
was it full of hate? or wonder?
was it just a sentimental slumber of a chance where
once you leave on the slimpy saturday, i shall wish
i knew you more
and more than the days before…
more than our eyes can fall..
at the edge of the ocean, just the insides
but not deep enough, not deep enough
to hear you breathe—-

me, on top of the dying cliff
shedding one, each, strand of hair
leafing onto her hands
at the bottom of his kiss

i sought an apple for you to taste
sweet, like a brook on october’s day;
breaking in, a caterpillar grew
out from my heart
and inside of you
my fury grazed upon your neighbour’s grass:
wilt and pelter inside a glass cup;
stumble upon your dirty footsteps
i heard you thread,
i heard your soul said
you rather love the devil instead
and poetry and stories, we
do tell the world
i sigh because every morning
it is never an easy light
and since i banished you away
into soft green sprite,
we’ve never been the same again

dipping toes into a golden stream;
not knowing what’s hidden beneath.
he plays with the dough, the clay
that colours his fingers, and so
we talk of our dreams and things
in bet-ween
we stroll to higher ground, looking
for the star where she laid crying;
for the truth is she left you and
you were the only one never belonging
-hold your head and hand, cupped into
in mine..
i want to know you and understand what
made you change your breaths and songs’
smiles, a million meanings, breaking into
story-tellings and merry-go-rounds;
twice, in the shade of the moon light where
you shall not weep
anymore
elbows and wishes and comfort
in a car, never being able to look behind
to tell you how far, how long
and when i shall set you my book of
lines and words of secrets, never
would i want to disappear, dissolve
into the universe..
but you and all, you are
the universe, yet broken,
fall-en. you are alone,
all adorned. all, never enough,
loud-spoken.

burns and bruises all over body
crush a firefly on the bed
a moth swinging from ear to toe
another dream another life
lie another sleep another
no one has stand up and said
:no hearts, no knifes at stake
dreambook, like a memory
jumbled players, random prayers
believe in the mind (open
and potent, stark
clasp bones and
don’t pretend
loved one, a friend
searching in bubbles and frames
losing rings and flowers
so beautiful, so wrong
so many nights
wishing to belong
to someone
in a dress in a happy mess
waiting for a call
letter postcard message
voice song hearts
chocolates bitter ; hurts
we shall all regard the truth
steadily sound like the wind
on cold feet bald head shades
we cannot make any sense
of any laces, pens, mirrors,
pillows, clouds, cotton, candy
and why is that
why not, all angels ask
because, a touch on the cheek
charming ’ fades
we are all
dreaming
and dreaming out loud
