get rid of unnecessary possessions

So there’s a local charity that does door-to-door donations pickups for their thrift store once every two months. Clearing out old stuff has never been easier! Well, for me anyhow. Getting the housemates to haul out the rest of their stuff in the garage so I can set up my workshop is going to be a little more difficult.

I tried to lose as much as I could before moving, but towards the end I ran out of time and had to pack all of the remaining stuff. Curbside donation is on April 2, and I’m trying to get rid of the last of my junk by then.

Still have to donate the accessories. I’ll get to it when I amke it through sorting all my stuff.

Of course in the meanwhile I also bought some stuff from Goodwill—but all of it was/is earmarked for projects. No, really… ^^;

Not only clothes to get rid of, but I’m getting rid of my jewelry too. I’m sorting through to see what can get kept as scrap for my prototypes. Most of it is so getting donated to Goodwill.

People should not give me jewelry as presents! Only my former boyfriends ever really grokked my sense of taste. Anyhoo…

Things are looking much better. Didn’t finish all the cleaning because I got er… sidetracked… bought a paper shredder to resist the temptation to hang onto papers that are too grody to even save as scrap doodling material. I have plenty of that already.

I have a lot of material I wanted to recycle into something useful (yogurt cups, scrap cardboard, reams of paper, knicknacks, broken handbags, etc.), but the time investment is too much. It’s better off in the recycling bin, where it’ll actually end up going into something. My cottage is too small.

The rest of my material posessions are mostly the basics plus all my crafting supplies (the ones I do use), so I can check this one off in a general sense once I get rid of the stuff that’s low-priority (not like that’s easy, there’s a lot of it).
