Ok, tried to hula hoop a bit today after some pilates. Not sure if that’s what helped or not, but I was able to keep the hoop up for about 25-30 seconds today which was a huge improvement. Still sad, but much better than my previous attempt. Maybe I’ll give it a shot a little each day and see if I get any better with time (and practice, of course).

This is much harder than it sounds. I’ve played with the Wii Fit Hula Hoop session and am pretty good at it, if I do say so myself. However, once I tried to throw a real hula hoop in the mix, I found myself unbalanced at best. This morning, I pulled an old childrens hula hoop out from the closet (no idea why I had this in the first place), and tried to give it a go. Let’s just say, I’m sure any 10 year old could beat me. No wait, that’s too easy. Let’s just say, any 60 year old could probably beat me! I was able to get the hoop around my body about three times max before it limply fell to the floor. Guess I’ve got a lot of work to do.
On the bright side, this is definitely a good workout and something I can do while sitting in front of the TV on a rainy day.
