5 weeks left!! 2 years ago

I forgot about this website and its been fantastic to revisit it today and check out the different goals I’ve set myself. So, I got onto my PGCE course and now have 5 weeks left before I can then go out into the world and teach in a classroom by myself – scary!

Its been an intense journey and I’ve wanted to give it up many times but as I reach the last leg of the course I’m feeling more focused and want to get it all together. I now need to get myself a job so I can get my NQT year out of the way and then I’m set.

Well, it’s been a while since I logged into this site but! BIG NEWS! I applied for teacher training this year, have attended an interview and been offered a conditional offer to start in September – just waiting to get my CRB check and away I go…

Have left my job, started packing, ordering books and generally getting my head around the idea.

Playin' the waiting game 3 years ago

Well, since my last entry I have finally managed to submit my application… I’m now just waiting to hear back from both the administrating body and the places I’ve applied to…

Apart from the waiting all I have left to do is the finance form and away I go…

Fabulous!

Welcome to the world of blogging 3 years ago

So, taking things a step further I’ve invested (well, it was free… I’m talking about my time!) in my very blog.

My new blog is going to be a complete haven to the trials of the next couple of months, from applications to interviews. Finding money to pay for courses and then making the decision about where I want to study… Hopefully I can keep it all up-to-date.

Check it out www.potentialteacher.blogspot.com

Enjoy…

Research, research, research... 3 years ago

So, as I walked through town this morning on my way to work I popped into Waterstones and bought myself a nice book to read tonight as I took myself into bed… How to survive teaching or something… It might give me the true behind all that recent recruitment ads…

Nice!

I'm feeling very positive about all this... 3 years ago

After a good nights sleep and discussing it with my sister (she has become such a great sounding board for me) and I woke this morning with a real drive to start the ball rolling…

I think I might send my dad and email and start discussing it with him. I think if I can get him behind me then there will be no stopping me… I feel just so excited.

Mr Musical Bobby… fabulous!!!

I've got the ball rolling 3 years ago

Okay, so I have thought about teaching for a while but just wasn’t sure I could do it! I’ve heard so many nightmare stories about the huge workload, the children that just don’t behave, the intense training but recently I visited a school in my current job to do some performance work… and I loved it.

So, I have started some reseach, dedicated a section in my personal development folder and am feeling quite excited about the whole thing…

I’ve order a brochue, had a look at the places I could training, texted my friend who has completed her training and her first year of teaching and wait with baited breath at the next couple weeks/months as I prepare, apply, attend interviews, choose the best place and then make it happen… It will of course have ramifications such as where to put all my stuff for a while but thats the small stuff – no sweat.

I’m rambling… I might set a small reminder for myself. Keep up the momentium.
