go to grad school

After my first day of classes, I am exhausted but so happy that I’m here. I packed up my stuff in the back of my car, moved 1900 miles away, moved in with two near strangers, and am starting on the next step of my great career. I’m am so frickin excited. I’ve only been here a little over a week and we’ve hosted two parties and met a TON of great people. I have a few that I would call good friends. What an awesome beginning. I hope it will only keep getting better. Here’s hopin.

So I want to be Dr. Frost. How fun is that… I’ll have a masters degree in 2 years – then I can be Doctor.

I’m going to Tucson! Never heard from Flagstaff – that’s okay – I got a great assistantship from Tucson – I just quit my job today. It’s gonna be great. I’m so thrilled. It’s gonna suck to move, but it will be wonderful!

I went to Flagstaff and Tucson and had two WONDERFUL auditions – it’s gonna be a wild ride – I got into Tucson on the spot! I hope I get into Flagstaff so I can have a choice. but the choice will be hard. No good! But I can’t wait for this next adventure!

I have been invited to audition at two schools in AZ!! I’m so excited! I hope they like me! I just want an assistantship so I can afford to do it. I have a lot to do before then – it’s only about 15 days away!! AGH!!! I have to conduct their choir for 25 minutes – wow. And they are grad students and already experts on the pieces. whew. It will be okay – I just have to keep from getting too intimidated. And do my taxes when I get back. Love that Apr. 15. If you have advice on conducting a subdivided four, let me know! ;-)

I’ve applied to two programs in Arizona for my masters in choral conducting. I sent off the second one today! It was so liberating to drop that package in the slot!
