get my british driving license

I can’t get my license here until I’m able to part with my US passport for “up to five weeks!”

Given that I’m changing jobs (and need to have the passport for that until mid-July), and doing lots of travelling until the end of October, it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to get my provisional license until at least November / December. Bollocks.
