I think the key to these types of goals is to stop thinking in terms of spurs and stops and realize that every day counts and that every day I have the power and insight to make a decision with regard to what I put into my body, how much I move around, whether I stress and how I handle the stress, etc. The problem frequently is the mind-set, for example: “I don’t have time for a massive 1000 calorie work-out so I’ll wait until tomorrow to do it” OR “I don’t have time to cook so I’ll swing by Wendy’s/McD’s/Burger King.” Planning is essential and so is setting up realistic goals and understanding that our bodies tend to stick with gradual lifestyle changes much better than they appreciate crash diets and one month of boot camp followed by six of lazy-chair camp…
