Ok...so I start today 1 year ago

Today is the day I really start (Easter Day). Yes I’ve said it before a million times, but really, honestly it is. I’ve worked very hard so far this month, so am expecting a substantial wage, and if I can put £50 away this week, then that would be a very encouraging start.

This is going to be difficult to achieve since, although my debt isn’t huge, due to the nature of my work, I often can’t make a full months wage. Luckily I should be able to put some money away in April and May, and that might allow me to stop worrying about it as much.

I know I can do this!

I'm getting frustrated 1 year ago

Since I decided I was going to try and achieve this goal, my credit card has gone up. I’m so disappointed. It now sits at roughly £950, and it really is because of unwanted bills and usually the unavoidable.

It’s really frustrating. The next few months, I’m going to work as much as I can and save to get this down. Even if only £50 or so. This is all the debt I have, so in that respect I suppose it isn’t too bad. My short term aim is to get it under £800 before the end of May. I can manage that!!!

Hmmm... 1 year ago

...this is a lot more difficult than I thought. My balance continues to go up. I’m at £1,000 now, although I paid off £250 today. Hopefully I can do the same again soon. The last couple of months have been difficult though, so hopefully it should get easier.

I think I’ll have to stay in for a month once I’m home from Toronto.

No!!!!! 1 year ago

Just when I thought I was doing so well! I transfered £150 onto my credit card on Friday, only to discover my electricity bill was almost £400!!! Disaster.
I can hardly afford this, so it’s going to be another quiet month I reckon!

Yippee! 1 year ago

Well, even better than I’d hoped. I got payed a little more than I expected, so I just transfered £150 over onto my card. I’m down to about £670 which isn’t too bad at all. I even think I might be able to put a little more in this month!

Getting Better! 1 year ago

I got paid on Friday, so once my cheque clears, I can transfer some money over to my credit card. It’ll be such a relief just to have a bit of cash.

I’ll try and transfer £80 or so at the end of the week! If I can do that every month it’ll be clear by the end of the year (provided I don’t add to it!!)

A poor start 1 year ago

I had to use it to pay my rent this month, so it’s gone up to about £800 which is really disappointing. My aim is to pay £100 off this month. It is hard to be disciplined with it. I really don’t make anywhere near enough money to pay it off any time soon though :(

This Year I Really Will Do It! 1 year ago

Last year I was pretty close too. Paid off about a thousand pounds of it, but then came Christmas, and I went to Australia for 3 weeks, and it went horribly wrong. I currently have about £450 on it, and that’s set to increase before the end of the month.

I think being more disciplined is the key to this one.

Watch me go!!
