To all my fellow struggling dieters—hear me out! You can do it! Keep up the good work. I always hovered around 160-170 in high school, then when I got out and got married I ballooned up to 220. I was that was for about a year until I finally had ENOUGH of the digustingness that was my body. I decided (somewhat on a whim, at first) around Christmas that my New Year’s resolution would be to go on a very strict diet and lose 25 lbs. Now, I’m not one to promote fad diets, but the one I used was foolproofdiet.com. It’s not complicated or anything, just common sense and extremely strict guidlines (800 calories a day). The diet guaranteed to make you lose 20 lbs in a month. And sure enough, I lost that and more in a month, and decided to keep going. By about May I had lost 65 lbs! It’s hard to be on a strict diet for a long time, so right now I’m just on a “maintainance” diet… not strict, but sensable, so I don’t gain it back. But I’m still not as thin as I’d like to be. I think I’ll spend the rest of this year maintaining and exercising, then this January I’ll make it a resolution to use the same diet and lose about another 30 lbs! I can’t wait, and now that I found the willpower and I know I can do it, I’m more motivated than ever… the true secret to dieting is convincing yourself that you CAN do it, and that if you work hard, you won’t fail!
