since ive been on this site. played a show in may, recording should come next but doesnt seem like anyones in a hurry.

is slowly…sloooooooowly coming along. 7 tracks down, unmixed, three more are slightly unwritten. havent played a show in a long time, starting to feel the itch, but want to write and play new songs. all the songs we’ve recorded are kinda old and we’re tired of them. big reason why its been hard trying to finish. ah well.

ok so i havent put up anything on the 43 things site for quite awhile. regular updates on allconsuming, but here..sometimes i just want to think about other things.

anyway, so music has been going well. we have a show tomorrow night with a bunch of bands from denton, but the poster looks like ass!
we’ve been working with molly to learn bass, and shes pickin it up pretty quick.
we have lined up a studio/practice space with addnerim, hopefully we’ll be movin in there in the next couple weeks and we can start seriously recording. recorded with keith a couple weeks ago, still need to finish those. looking for a permanent drummer. been buying up equipment, mics, cables, whatnot.
anyway, yep! thats whats been goin on! i have a headache.

we have a show upstairs at the ridglea. not that big of a deal, but i think it just helps to have something to play to. we’ve had 2 practices with everyone there. im a little nervous, but overall i feel really good about it.
on another note, our roommate is moving out at the end of the month, and we’ll be taking back her room to make into a studio, art and music. hopefully. so i’ll finally have a place to just play, which is what ive been sorely lacking. my mental clarity is peaking, and im ready to write some more.

so my friend who has always kinda backed me up on whatever i was doing is now being backed up by me. its interesting. i just havent had much time or privacy to write lately, whereas he has, and hes come up with some good songs.
sometimes its easier to work on someone else’s work than your own, and thats what i find myself doing now. i like it. i really like some of the songs, but as with anything, a fresh set of ears helps, and i think that in the end, there will be a really big improvement. im happy to be a part of it.

bought a firepod on saturday, spent a bit of time with it yesterday, but overall it has motivated me more than anything else has in a long time. it sounds pretty dang good too.
ive been putting off getting an i/o for awhile, still kind of wanted an mbox just cause i already had all my old stuff in pro tools, but overall, the firepod is a much better deal. the pres alone make it worth it, very nice.
anyway, yay! ive been wanting this for a long time, and now i finally have it. yessss

i was singing to myself a lot. played guitar on the beach for awhile, but was too tired/drunk to really get anywhere. i need to just play more. im buying a classical soon so i can have something with me all the time. i miss that.

the goals that im using this goal for are:
record a new album
play more guitar
record my music and make people listen to it
perfect the songs i already have
transfer ALL the 4-track tapes
write more songs
get an mbox 2
learn to play the harp

im all about the compression.
