Been learning Irish at NYU Speaking Freely. Since only one semester of Irish is offered, I probably won’t master it to a great extent. Will consider this goal complete if I attain semi-proficiency in two or three languages, preferably byt taking several semesters of German and Spanish.

I am an incoming freshman at NYU this year. There is this program called NYU Speaking Freely which offers free, non-credit language courses during the semester. I signed up for Speaking Freely classes in Spanish, Italian and German. I may need to drop one due to time constraints, but that still leaves a third and a fourth language.
Can’t imagine that SF will make me fluent in any of the languages, since it is just 10 one-and-a-quarter hour classes in a semester, but I can get a basic grasp of the languages, and, whichever language I like best, Ican go on to take further courses in.
I am biligual in Bengali and English (live in Bangladesh). I am immigrating to USA this summer. I want to learn the languages spoken on the American continent (French in Quebec, Spanish in Latin America and Portuguese in Brazil), so I can travel all over the Americas.
