In September I:
Went horseback riding.
I volunteered for something, by signing up to help set up two different artist’s pieces in Art Prize.
Then I volunteered by following through with it.
I also volunteered at a bake sale, at my school, and Donated to Charity by purchasing some of the goods. The proceeds went to a local woman’s shelter.

In August I got wet…by:
Dancing in the rain.
One night I was over at a friends house, and it was pouring rain. We were really bored and decided to go puddle jumping. While jumping around in puddles I did silly little tap dances. We had a great time, and we both got completely soaked.
I also went skinny dipping.
I live next to a private beach, and yet I’ve never gone skinny dipping before. One night I decided to take a walk down there. It was a warmer night, and as I sat on a boat, staring at the stars, I remembered the skinny dipping goal. I stripped down one article of clothing at a time, neatly arranging them on the boat, and then I got up and ran for the water. As I was running I forgot about a drop off in the sand, and I tripped and fell (I’m no Bo Derek). When I jumped in it wasn’t as cold as I thought it was going to be, but then a chill soon came over me. The current was also very strong, so I decided to go back in. The last thing I wanted was to drown, and then have my naked bloated corpse discovered by some Chicago tourists.

In July I:
Over came a fear: I’ve always been afraid to ride on a motorcycle. I don’t really get along with things on wheels, and so the idea of me on the back of a motorcycle sends shivers down my spine. While visiting some friends I decided to ask my friend Fram for a ride on his bike. I put on a helmet that was way too big for me, and clung to his back. Eventually I sat up a little straighter. I enjoyed my ride, except when I would accidentally hit my helmet on the back of his, and when I would slide forward, and have to do little bunny hops backwards when we were at a stop.
Went camping:
Over the weekend a group of friends and I went up north. It was fun except for getting completely soaked in the rain, and not having spare warm clothes.
I took more pictures:
My camera broke again after going on vacation, but I kept taking pictures on my phone. I recently got a new phone and it takes pretty good pictures, and I can put them online.

June was mostly filled with me trying to get through my summer class. However I did go on a picnic. My friends and I went down to this cute little lake. We didn’t bring any fancy foods, just bags of chips, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and liters of soda. There were geese and ducks every where, and I thought it would be a great idea to feed my crusts to the geese. Bad idea. As I started to approach, throwing the crusts, they gobbled them up and started hissing at me. I got nervous and flung the remainder of the bread at them and ran back to our blanket. My friends and I were laughing at my stupid generous gesture, but quickly stopped when we realized that the geese were getting closer…and closer…and hissing and getting closer. I shook our blanket it at them and we ran away. Lesson of the day: Feed the ducks, not the geese.

In May I:
Finished a whole game of monopoly. I know the goal here was to win a game, but I didn’t really care about that. I’ve never played a whole game through, and doing so was a big enough challenge for me to count this goal. See my post about it here http://www.43things.com/how_i_did_it/view/48406/how-to-finish-a-game-of-monopoly
I wrote a poem for my mother, for mother’s day see that here http://www.43things.com/things/view/7225/write-a-poem
I went to the zoo for my birthday. The Lincoln Park Zoo may not be a place most 22 year olds want to visit for their birthday, but I enjoyed going. The only problem was..it was memorial day weekend. The place was obviously packed with kids. Next time I need to go on a day less crowded, and give myself more time to look around before I have to catch my train home.
I also took more pictures.
Things I could do in June:
Go camping,
Fly a kite,
Dance in the rain,
Read HHGTG,
Go on a picnic

This month I focused on doing my snow based goals. The first I achieved was making a snow man.
I was waiting for it to be warm enough for me to wander outside. While I find the winter to be aesthetically pleasing, I just can’t stand the cold. The day I finally did it was around 40 degrees and sunny; a perfect day for snowmen. I wandered out to my apartment building’s court yard, and while ignoring what other people might think, I made snowmen up against a brick wall.
After completing that goal I flopped down in the snow, and completed my next snow goal, and made a snow angel. I ended up getting snow in my boot, and down my pants. eyebrow waggle The next day my snowmen and angel melted away, but that’s okay. At least they melted before some jerk decided to destroy them. I hope that some nice bunnies ended up eating the carrot and green bean I used for their noses.
The next goal I worked on, was the ever lasting battle to drink more water. I maintained this for a while, drinking 1 liter every day. I soon, however, fell under the spell of the succubus known as Juice and Soda. According to water intake calculators, I should be drinking 2 liters every day. This sounds so exorbitant to me, seeing as drinking 1 liter sometimes makes me gag.
The next goal I touched on was, taking more pictures. My camera magically decided to work again. I created a Shuttercal (www.shuttercal.com), and started to fill it out, but alas my camera decided to stop working again.

In January I:
Drank more water, but I could have drank a lot more.
Baked cookies: I got together with my friends, and while we made cookies from pre-made dough I’m still counting this. The rest of the night we sat around and ate cookies, while talking about things that made us sound like we should have been on the lifetime channel.
I caught snow flakes on my tongue: It wasn’t a hard goal for me, because I live in Michigan. On blustery days I just open up wide, and they nestle on my tongue. I probably look ridiculous, but that’s okay.
Had movie marathons: One of my other goals is to watch all of Woody Allen’s films, so I have had several marathons watching his films.
When visiting a friend, we felt like watching something trashy, and he just happened to have Flavor of Love on DVD, so we had a little marathon.
I also had a Weeds marathon
And I had a marathon of BBC shows; Dark Place, Mighty Boosh, and Snuff Box.
Things I could do in February:
Drink more water
Build a snowman
Bake a cake
Read HHGTTG
Snow Angel
