These dolphins will be sold for meat at a local grocery store... 2 months ago

Their meat is too high in mercury to be consumed, especially to pregnant women

Fishermen covering dead dolphins 2 months ago

Since slaughtering dolphins doesn’t promote fishermen popularity, they cover the area and do not allow pictures or trespassing

The capturing of dolphins in Taiji, Japan 2 months ago

Dolphins are either sold to perform during shows or slaughtered

Please watch "The Cove"!!! 3 months ago

Avery touching movie about saving dolphins in Taiji, Japan. Very inspirational for activists, and have in fact motivated me to boycott Marineland.

An Unreasonable Woman: A True Story of Shrimpers, Politicos, Polluters, and the Fight for Seadrift, Texas by Diane Wilson 12 months ago

I highly recommend this.

Codes of the GM Veggies 19 months ago

A helpful way to find out where the veggies in your store came from and whether they have been genetically modified:

Look at the PLU code attached to the fruit or vegetable, numbers starting with 4 are regular veggies, the ones starting with 9 are organic and the ones starting with 8 have been genetically modified.
Most genetically modified products are however corn and soy, which are often used in processed foods and do not have a PLU… Referring to the package information in this instance would be more helpful, as in looking for organic canola oil, or tofu, etc.

Children of Men 2 years ago

Watched the movie with Noe, and kinda got restless, I feel as if I am not doing enough for the planet. By chance we passed a poster that advertised some activist meeting regarding ecological issues: we’re going!! I felt better.
I also realized that reading newspapers is a good idea. Since we don’t have a TV (and I am oh so glad about it) I have to keep up with whats going on outside if I want to help.

check this out… http://www.life.ca/nl/46/maxi.html
talks about the old issue of pads and alternatives (keeper, organic coton, etc…)

For recycling addicts 3 years ago

Yogurt cups are unfortunately not recyclable everywhere, but you can look for cups that have #2 and #5, which means less plastic is used and is more environmentally friendly.

For everyone who is interested in our beautiful planet and their beautiful selves… This is a store for you!

All the products are hand made, mostly from natural sources and without preservatives. They use a very small amout of packaging; soaps, dry shampoo, massage oils and bath bombs have no packaging at all! That means no garbage or recycling, less garbage bags, less garbage trucks and less energy to sort all that out. I think that’s brilliant.

My fave is their shampoo bar, it smells delicious and it has no preservatives, which makes it healthier on hair and it is simply awesome. Also I looove the bath bombs, they fuzz wonderfully in my bath, colour it with pink or ocean blue colours and smell delicious…

And no I am not working for them !
