Natalia has written 7 entries about this goal

a lecture, dinner and a musical

Haven’t been on 43 things for a long time, but I missed it and it was a great way to record my goals and so on. So here I am!

Last week was our 7 month wedding anniversary and I planned our date night. We went to a lecture on oxytocin, and then had dinner at one of our favourite greasy spoon type restaurants, and then saw the G&S musical “Gondoliers.”

This week is Valentine’s day and I think we’re going to stay in for a romantic evening at home. However that means we’ll have to do another date night. If S doesn’t think of one I will come up with something. I know he’s been slacking off in the romance department, but hopefully by working on it myself it will help him to follow suit too. Maybe we’ll go see the movie “Hugo” and drop by the arcade before then. We haven’t been to the arcade for a long time and it is a fun and crazy (and loud) thing to do, not as its own date night event, but as part of the evening.

Awesome date plan: 18th Century Market!

Last week we went to this great flea market and found a few neat things. It was S’s date. This week we are going to the Pointe à Callière 18th Century market. My mum will be visiting with us, but I am sure it will be a blast anyway. I suppose it doesn’t exactly count if it’s with her, but I have been planning this one for a while and it just happened to coincide with her visit. I will have to do something extra nice for S this week then :o)

My turn

It’s my turn again this week to plan the date night, although it will be a full date day. We are getting back into the swing of things after our honeymoon!! On Saturday morning I will make a big breakfast with pancakes and fruit, and then we are going to the McCord museum of Canadian history, and then to the Plage-Dore for some lounging in the sun! I am looking forward to it, and I can’t wait to surprise him with the plans.

stay in date

I haven’t updated about our date nights for a while, and we’ve gotten a little off track in the regularity of our date nights too.
Last week though, we went out to this desserty place “Juliette et Chocolat” that was ALL based around chocolate (drinks, crepes, brownies etc.) It was delicious and fun.

Yesterday it was my turn to plan our date night so I hid notes in plastic easter eggs with clues where to find the next egg, and at the end it led to our delicious snack to eat while we watch a movie! It was a stay-in date night. S absolutely LOVED running around and finding all the eggs. So cute.

Stay in dates are good, but we can’t ONLY do those. Tonight we are going on a double date; a couple is coming to my apt for dinner, and then we’re going out to a movie.

midnight go karting

We went on a surprise date night last night: go karting! At 11pm! Because there’s a 24 hour go karting place (bizarre, eh?) and they have a promo that starts at 11pm. So we were invited last minute to go along with some of his work friends, and ta da! It was a crazy time, but I am pretty grumpy today from the lack of sleep. Oh well, I think it was worth it.

This week is really my week to do a date night, so Sunday I’m taking him out to improv! We love improv and we’re checking out a new venue :o)

movie night

We saw “Inception” 2 nights ago: his date night. We went to the crazy “Dollar Cinema” which is a slightly run down, but awesome little theatre run by this one guy who knows all the regulars. He gets all the old reels for cheap, so the admission is $2! It’s a fun place every once in a while. And the movie was fantastic!

Next week is my date night, and we’re away visiting our parents for the holidays. Not sure what I will plan, esp. since next week is Christmas!

Laser tag

This week we are going to play laser tag as a double date with some friends. We are both as excited as little kids going to a fun birthday party! I’ll also make dinner for us before hand.
