Here's a bit better pic!

I do look odd when I run!

The kiddlies did the 2k fun run whilst I did the 10k – they were chuffed to get medals too….and my Mumma, who did half of the 2k with Little Jimmers on her shoulders!

I did it - woohoo!!!!!

Date: Sunday 12th August 2007
Race: Sherunsheruns 10k
Gun position: 783/1338 (inc males)
Gun time: 57 mins 59 secs
Chip position: 781/1338
Chip time: 57 mins 28 secs
Female position: 213/551

I’m really happy with that – I wanted to run my first 10k in under 1 hour and I did it. Not making excuses but also I did it after crying the entire previous day because I nearly got divorced, having a hangover and only 3 hours sleep….AND in crappy old trainers.

Now I have decent trainers and am reconciled with hubby I think I could beat that time easy peasy!!! I’ll definately be doing this again!!

  • I am third back on picture!

1st proper measured and timed practice...

Yesterday I ran round the park two and a half times then from Margate to Broadstairs to Ramsgate – woohoo. 10k as measured in the car beforehand.

I wanted to do it in under an hour but I did it in 1 hour 15 seconds. Humph…..but I did have to stop while crossing roads twice and I had three pretty big hills to contend with.

On race day I will have a falt course, no traffic and adrenaline on my side so I’m hoping to do it in under 60 mins. Fingers crossed.

Entry confirmation!

I got confirmation that I have a place in the HeRunsSheRuns 10k next month. I am getting excited!

1st 10k practice done - yay!!!

I was supposed to be doing the 5k Race For Life today but unfortunately it was cancelled due to the course being waterlogged. I was really disappointed and feeling flat until my daughter suggested we go to the gym and run the 5k on the treadmill anyway.

So I did the 5k, and then I didn’t stop. Seeing as I have my 10k booked in 6 weeks time I thought I’d better up my training a bit.

I did 10k in 56 mins 30 secs – I kept going until 60 mins and reached 10.5k. Woohoo! Really need to measure out 10k on the road and get practising properly.

OMG!!!

I have just signed up for my first 10k

Eeek I am petrified and nervous and excited!!!!!!!!!!!

Registered my interest...

For the Cancer Research 10k races. Not sure when the nearest one to me will be but I want to start focussing on a real race. Looking forward to finding out more.

9.5k - almost there!

Today I programmed 10k into the treadmill with the intention just to run as lng as I needed. I didn’t realise the treadmills wont actually allow you to run longer than 60 mins. It was only at 55 mins that I got the warning beep and so upped my pace but not quick enough. Only 9.5k in 60 mins. Oh well – now I know I will start running that bit faster from the start!

Still really pleased with myself – this is the further I have run in one go ever!

Another 9k

In 57 minutes – I need to pick up my pace if I want to do 10k in under an hour! I’ll keep at it!

9k

I’m getting closer!!!

I have been plodding along with this goal running 7k and 3.5k on alternate days with one day rest per week. I was getting frustrated because before I was ill in November I got up to 8k and then I could’t get back to it.

Today I just thought sod it I’m going to run for hour and see how far I get – and I did 9k in 57mins. I ran pretty slow but now I can start increasing my speed to aim towards 10k on 60 mins hopefully!

I was really pleased with myself!!!
