...well…hmmm….

I could write reams of justifications to try and make myself feel righteous about booking a holiday. I had a small unexpected windfall and spent it on a luxury.

As simple as that.

Once I get back to work after my maternity leave and Stinky Pinkleton starts nursery I’ll have a better idea of income/outgoings and will make a concerted effort to get the overall debt down.

Oh dear... 11 months ago

...this is such an important goal and yet I have only made two previous entries.

It is still a huge priority and yet I continue to neglect it and this has to change.

The first step I need to do is update my money spreadsheets and get a grip on our current situation.

I have got to crack this one. 21 months ago

We re-mortgaged late last year and managed to pay off virtually all of our debts. When I was still drinking I was being pretty irresponsible with money and scarily spending about £300 a month on alcohol.

Now I really want to get tight reigns on our spending. If I’m to have any chance of going back to work part time after my maternity leave.

Cutting up a credit card! 2 years ago

We managed to completely clear one of credit card balances recently and as it has rubbish interest rates we decided to cut up the card and close the account!

It was quite an exciting moment!
