even better

I can’t remember the name of the book at the moment but it’s about unlocking your creative side. It suggests drawing alot, specifically keeping an illustrative journal. It is pretty brilliant as I love journalling but sometimes words are just sort of messy lines and you can convey so much more with an image. I’ve been trying it lately and it’s a great excuse to practice drawing while actually recording your experiences.
Apparently a picture IS worth a thousand words…

i felt like crap and so i wrote a teeny little blurb about it. it kind of helped make me feel better in some strange way – even if my entries are not always positive and inspiring, it’s a good alternative to whining!!

I removed ‘learn to swing dance’ because it’s just not priority right now. What I DID realize is that I’m more open when I write daily (preferably in the AM). Plus there are many different aspects of my life that I need to track. I already have a few different journals that I use for different things, plus a blog for general use.
I have tried the Artist’s Way a few times and understand the premise, but find it hard to write in a specified journal at a specified time of day. Still, I understand the ‘morning’ aspect, and will try to be up earlier. I could even blog during my lunch hour.
One of the things I do in conjunction is scrapbooking stuff from magazines. Another thing that would be interesting is to generate charts and graphs, tracking changes and results. The latter could be applied to various health issues. I got this idea from reading someone’s abstract for a thesis project that was lying around!!
