The ice melts away
I’m the one who stopped the clock
Yet I never change

Plans in the sky are
Kites on a string, fighting the
Wind for everything.

We ignore, forget
Let each other down and split
Because we are friends

Your strawberry eyes
Fill the room with sunlight and
I can’t look away

Having and wanting.
The hope to recieve your love
Will be second best.

Your roots down too soon
Branches reach high outside to
Darken up my room

Each and ev’ry day
I feel blessings in the breeze
Stir my heart to sing

We hang our hopes as
Bells from branches to see how
The world makes them ring.

A world of color
You begin my life again
With each vibrant stroke

A flower will die
Under frost, undone by ice
Still the fragrance stays.

Til weather passes
In a breeze, upon the air
Now is blown away.

Behold, a rose that
Wants to grow exactly where
I cannot remain.
