take major risks in my work and art

lately, i’ve been trying to push through that safety zone.

it’s not foolproof, but it is happening … very slowly.

that perfection’s strike runs so deeply within … since i was little kid.

if i approached my other creative outlets the way i did figure skating – especially to passionate music – i’d be on my way to really growing, evolving, nurturing the spirit and soul.

goodness, this is a difficult goal.

as the title says: facing the fear.

that’s what this goal comes down to.

facing the fear.

forget about drawing
that one line over and over again
until it’s just right.
let go the need for perfection.
push through the fear.
blast down that sky-high big wall.
it’s only imaginary.
get over it, girl.

face that fear.
it’s keepin’ yah down.
it’s keepin’ yah from fulfilling your bigger dreams.
it’s keepin’ yah from evolving.

you gotta evolve.
or you’ll just die.

your soul will for sure.

awaken that spirit within.
that passionate beauty.
the now rusty gifts you were born with.

go now. do it. dig it. love it. embrace it. be it.
