I saw his paintings seperately. I saw one and I thought that I liked it a lot, I saw another and I thought the same and then I realised that they were both by the same painter.
Henri Rousseau was a French post-modernist. He was a self-made man, considered to be a naive or primitive writer. He was painting mainly in his forties and at the age of 49 he retired from his job to work as full-time painter.

I got interest in her works thanks to freerice.com Her paintings always cheer me up. After what I’ve read about her I shall remember that:
- she was a 17th century Dutch artist
- most of Leyster’s dated works are from 1629-1635, which coincides with the period before she had children (from wikipedia, which shows that my decision about not having children was good)
- some her works bear strong resemblance to Frans Hals’s works but the historians doesn’t know precisely what was the connection between them
