read 100 books in 2009

The play is based on the novel but the novel is not available anywhere around here so I decided to read the play. My teacher warned me that it’s nothing like the book and I guess that’s the case. Plays (in the written form) are only talking names and not real characters.

It’s the second short-story collection by her I’ve read. Her imagination seems to be infinite.

I don’t even know whether I’m going to reach fifty this year. It’s not that I read less, it’s just that I have too many essays, historical stuff and short-stories to read so when I have the time to read a book it’s usually something for studies.
A difficult book because the topic it deals with is difficult.

I saw the adaptation first. It was “The Innocent” with Deborah Kerr, one of the scariest movies I’d ever seen. And now my curriculum forced me to read the book…

I really don’t know. Due to my lack of time I had to read this book within one day which isn’t such an easy issue as it was more than 300 pages long. I got bored with it at times but I think it was quite a good read.

Sometimes I have a feeling that I encounter books and movies that are relevant to my life. As with this one. You can’t escape the past, it will always haunt you. What you can do is redifining yourself.

A very interesting book. The homosexual relations of the main character were only suggested and I guess that’s the reason why the book wasn’t severly criticised by the Muslim world. I’d like to read something more by him.
Btw the cultural consultant of the Polish translation of the book is my former Arabic teacher. Hell yeah.

It’s about women who are unable to express themselves. I get it. But there’s no reason to force people to read 178 pages of gibberish just to tell these stories.

Just an ideal book for me at the time. It reads very quickly. I’m looking forward to read other James’s books.

A very good read for a thriller. Entertaining.
