Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

back to the gym

With the vacation and wedding my gym schedule was not followed. I hope to get back on track soon. Good news is that I maintained my weight loss-since i began in June I am down 17 pounds. That’s without a significant diet change-I will be incorporating that soon.


I am still going to the gym pretty regularly but I pulled a muscle the other day and had to miss two days and it killed me. I stepped on the scale today-up three pounds from four days ago-great…it’s time to really, r e a l l y focus on the diet.


How can someone as overweight as I am hit a plateau? geez—i guess i need to work harder-increase the intensity and , really focus on the diet. I am down 10 pounds since I started this over two months ago. I thought I’d be further along at this point.

I am now up to 30 minutes on the treadmill-3.2 speed and 4.5 incline-about 1.7 miles with the cool down factor. I will do this four times a week—to work up to 5 times a week in mid August.

it’s been over a month now and i am down 7 pounds—not as much as i hoped for but still progress. Spend at least 4 days a week at the gym-40 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of weight training. Will have to up it pretty soon.


Still going strong at the gym! The personal “trainer”—I call her the “personal torturer” is very good at motivating taylor and I to do our best.

It’s been a little over a week now-we have been to the gym 4 times and had our 2nd session with the trainer. She is very good about taking it nice and slow with us and I appreciate that. I stepped on the scale and lost three pounds! Yea-tomorrow is the official weigh in so hopefully I will make more progress.

Baby steps

Taylor and I joined the gym last week. We met with a personal trainer yesterday. Can I say that I am sore??? Can’t walk because of the knee bends she had us do…. =) It’a a good thing though and we are on our way to looking fabulous for the wedding and my trip to Europe. I promised myself that 2007 would be my year. Getting in better shape is one of my main goals!

Physically Fit? No, physically Fat but will get to where I want to be!

I need to lose weight—for me, for my health, to make sure I increase every chance I get to have the most time on this beautiful earth. I have a wedding to attend on October 21st and I also want this to be the YEAR I meet my soul mate. I would like him to meet me at my personal best.
