...in the past week thinking about how to moisten the bag of potting soil, and asking people about it, and contemplating whether or not I need another bag of soil, and making a mental note to buy another bag of soil and then forgetting about it, etc., etc.? I know I’ve spent at least a moment or two every single time I’ve come and gone in my car over the past seven days.

Time spent pouring a bucket of water into the bag this morning: 2 minutes.

...moisten the big bag of completely dry potting soil before I fill my big planter box. Also, I think I may need a second bag of potting soil.

In the meantime, I re-potted one tomato plant into a bigger pot. I think the other two will be OK for a couple more days. Everything is growing. :)

of why I want to get busy and get my tomato plants planted today.

...basically a few tomato plants and herbs in a box.

I already had some of the stuff on hand: a planter box that my brother had given us as a gift and has never been used; a bag of potting soil; and two tomato plants that a friend gave me last week. Today, I picked up a cherry tomato plant, a pot of flat-leaf parsley, and a pot of basil.

Next step: plant the plants in the planter box. I plan to locate it right beside the outdoor faucet, where I go in and out every day, and where it will be easy to water.
