I don’t know what zone I’m supposed to be in this week, but my bedroom and bathroom really REALLY needed a good cleaning, and I was able to get that done this morning. I got up early to help out my cat-catching friend, and then another commitment that I’d made got cancelled at the last minute.
I feel so much better tonight.

This is the flylady’s week for the kitchen zone, and in my case that includes the kitchen table and part of a countertop that have been cluttered with paper for months now. That’s where my incoming paper seems to end up, mostly because my desktop is also covered with paper.
Since I’ve got a houseguest right now, and the rest of the kitchen is passable thanks to her being here, I’m going to try to focus on the paperwork this week. That will involve my goal of “Befriending fear”.

I haven’t been flying much, lately, and my house really shows it.
I think I’ll start again this afternoon in the kitchen. Maybe I can at least get my sink shining.
Update: Sink is shining. Hooray! Maybe I’ll try to clear off the kitchen table next.

That’s probably just what I need to be working on this October.

But which bathroom, and which other room?
I think I must choose the bathroom that is down in my basement, and which is very seldom used. There may be a collection of petrified insects down there, which happens if I let things go too long.
And for the other room, I’m torn between the garage and my office. Maybe I can do a little in both rooms this week.

This week is designated for kitchen cleaning, and my kitchen, although not really that clean, is at least fairly neat and decluttered as of today. Yay! And this morning I did some wiping of countertops and threw out a few jars of ancient food that were in the fridge, including something with an expiration date of 2006. (Ewww!)
For the rest of the week I’m going to try to focus on my desktop, and search for those missing tax papers, sorting, decluttering and filing as I go. If I can find those papers and get the house vacuumed by week’s end, I’ll be overjoyed.

One nice thing about my recent travels was a vacation from flylady routines. But now that I am home, it’s time to apply some glue and get back on track.
This week in flylady is focused on the entrance, front porch, and dining room, and since my front entrance and dining room are virtually empty at the moment, it’s one of the simpler areas to deal with. I did water the urns on the front porch today, and the flowers need some grooming and pruning, but I’m thankful that my petsitters kept the plants alive while I was gone.
The real focus for me this week is the basics, and dealing with all the detritis from my trip. I’m thankful that my petsitters kept my cats alive, but they couldn’t figure out how my vacuum worked, so there’s lots of cat fur and litter to clean up. I also want to get the sink shining and the mail sorted and the laundry done, and get sticky with my daily and weekly routines again.

Good. I’ll include the master bathroom as a part of the master bedroom, and plan to work on it this week, as it desperately needs some extra attention, and I didn’t get around to it last week during bathroom week.

...and I’m hoping that writing an entry here today will work like glue.
This is the week of bathrooms and the laundry room, and they are all in need of attention. My daily routines need help too.

My latest brush with C.H.A.O.S. (Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome) revealed how much I have been slacking off on this goal. Time to begin all over again.
Also, this week’s flylady missions involve the Master Bedroom. I just discovered my own Master Bedroom mission a few days ago. The floor under my bed is covered with little chunks of batting, and a bit of further investigation revealed that it is coming a torn seam in the bottom edge of the comforter on the bed. This is the 2nd comforter this year that has “sprung a leak”. Hmmmmm. Perhaps one of my kitty cats has taken up a new hobby? I want to clean up the mess, and figure out what to do about this.
