Well, it became more obvious yesterday that my kitchen is in need of help. Not only is the one countertop cluttered (again, with what else but old mail…sigh), but also I noticed a thick layer of dust on the floor. And last week I was noticing all the spatters on the fronts of the cabinets. And yesterday I was having trouble putting stuff away in a cabinet that was overflowing with recycled plastic storage containers and lids.

I did get those storage containers sorted, and I tossed out at least some of the excess. And I did get my sink shining last night. And I did get all the garbage and recycling out to the curb. Yay!
.
My self-assigned missions for this week:
1. De-cluttering the countertop.
2. Vacuuming.
3. Wiping off the cabinets.
4. Cleaning the floor.

I cooked for a friend last Thursday, and never quite got the sink shining after that. Then I cooked for a reception this morning. My sink is not shining. This is my mission for tonight.

Is it really time for the master bedroom again, already? I must be having an awful lot of fun lately, because time sure is flying by.

I got nowhere 4 weeks ago, so I’ll just copy part of that entry again:
My Master Bedroom List that I wrote 10 months ago still isn’t finished, so I guess I’ll work some more on it.

Also, I feel entropy and lack of energy starting to take its toll in other hotspots and just in general around the house, especially in the kitchen. My sink has not even been shined lately! I guess that will be job#1 this week, followed by my weekly vacuuming routine.

I think I’ll need a lot of glue to get anywhere this week. Good thing I found a big jug of it.
Help! My desktop, where piles of mail and other papers have been slowly growing and beginning to smolder, has suddenly burst into flames and needs attention. Today is the 2nd time in two days that I’ve been unable to locate something important. I’ve spent the week so far upstairs attempting to locate missing tax papers, and now I need to go back downstairs and hose down the burning mess on top of my desk and get it filed or thrown away. That is my main flylady mission for this week.
I think my daily or weekly routine will then need changing to try to prevent future fires.
My living room is in pretty decent shape right now. I think I’ll just do my normal weekly vacuuming, and then continue with what I didn’t finish last week in the bathrooms and in my bedroom.
My Master Bedroom List that I wrote 10 months ago still isn’t finished, so I guess I’ll work some more on it. Also, bathroom stuff remains undone from last week’s flight plan. That plus my regular weekly vacuuming and daily checklist should be more than enough to keep me busy in the coming week.
I’m disappointed in last week’s progress in the kitchen, but my sink is still shining even after cooking yesterday. :)
My bathrooms really do need some attention.
(1) Weekly vacuuming, etc. & normal daily routines checklist. DONE enough.
(2) Clean the cabinet woodwork. DONE. Yay!
(3) Clean the windows & mirrors. DONE in 1 bathroom
(4) Clean the sinks & shower/tub. DONE in 1 bathroom
(5) Clean the bathroom floors. Threw out an old rug. Yay!
Extra credit: Keep working on sorting old papers in dining room.
I’m thrilled at how much progress I made last week on the entryway/dining room.
My kitchen is not in bad shape. Partly it’s because my houseguest hasn’t been around, and I’ve eaten out so often lately, and I’m not cooking much. But here are my kitchen goals and my normal weekly maintenance goals:
(1) Weekly vacuuming etc. DONE, more or less
(2) Normal daily routines - make a checklist-. Made checklist. Check. Then forgot to check the checklist, but I think I did OK.
(3) Ask a friend to help me clean out the dead bugs in the kitchen light fixtures. UNDONE, but instead my friend completed another repair in the basement.
(4) Mop the kitchen floor. UNDONE, but I did clean some along the baseboards of the cabinets.
(5) Keep working on those boxes of old papers in the dining room. DONE, sort of. Small amount of progress
My goals for this week are to:
(1) Do weekly vacuuming routine. DONE
(2) Clean the front entrance & put light bulbs in the fixtures. DONE for the most part.
(3) Do something to deal with the 6 boxes of old papers in the dining room. DONE. More left to do, but I DO have 1 box ready to go out to the curb or to the library to be recycled, and another 1/3 box to be shredded.
I worked on two missions today that have been on my list of things to do for weeks.
1. I cleaned out the sink drain.
2. With the help of my friend and houseguest, and her new vacuum cleaner/carpet shampooer, we did lots of vacuuming, and some spot-cleaning of carpet stains.
