Review Goals Weekly

48 cheers

New Isabella has written 12 entries about this goal

After further evaluation & frustration...

...and a long time passing, I’ve decided to mark this goal as “DONE”.

I’m going to try a new goal, 20 questions you should ask yourself every Sunday, instead as a weekly review.

I've decided...

...that I’ve made so frustratingly little progress since last week’s review that I am not going to write out a new goal review entry at this time. I am going to make another appointment in my calendar for a goal review next Sunday.

In the meantime, I haven’t decided what I am going to do this week. Last week I wrote what I wanted to make my priorities, but my actions showed that I really had other priorities. Maybe I need to check in with my inner coach this week, and figure out what to do next.

This goal feels like I'm trying to juggle way too many balls...

Review Goals Weekly I did make an appointment on my calendar for a goal review on Sunday, but I was a day late in keeping my appointment. No wonder I usually wait so long. It’s embarrassing to have such a small amount of progress to report. GOAL: Same as last week. Make an appointment with myself to do this again next Sunday. Hopefully with practice this gets quicker and easier.

find a realtor I allowed myself to procrastinate last week due to Master’s Week in Augusta. GOAL: Decide whether to call repair person suggested, or to just call the realtor back. Then make that call.

do my taxes in March I do have a folder for gathering Important Tax Papers; unfortunately, it is still empty, and it’s almost April 15! :( GOAL: Find at least one Important Tax Paper in the next week and put it in the folder.

Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I’m grateful. I did make one new entry this week. Yay! GOAL: Same as last week. Make at least one gratitude entry in the next week.

purge my files This goal is tied in with my “Clear the deck” challenge goal.

Stick to my Flylady routines like glue I did work on all 3 of these goals last week, however imperfectly: (1) Weekly vacuuming (2) Clean the kitchen floor (3) Clean the pollen from the front & back porches. YAY! GOAL: This week’s flylady zone is the bathroom and laundry room. Let’s see if I can clean the floors in those places as well as doing my weekly vacuuming and catching up on laundry.
Control erosion and runoff on my property No progress on either of these 2 babysteps: (1) I did not make any calls (but at least I found the phone number to call) (2) I did not find the old quote. GOAL: Same as last week. (1) Make at least one call. (2) Find that old quote.
take care of myself—eat right, sleep, exercise I forgot to put the stars on my calendar, but I’m pretty sure that I walked 2 days. Not good, but better than nothing. GOAL: Try it again this week. Aim for 3 stars on my calendar.
Each morning write down 3 goals for Today Made entries 4 entries, exceeding last week’s goal by 1 entry. Yay!. GOAL: Try for at least 4 entries again this week.
Keep on paying my bills on time Made a monthly checklist for paying bills, but it is incomplete and not yet put away in my flylady control journal. I did pay many of my bills that are due, including one that was very much past due. Good progress!GOAL: Try to clean up anything else still unpaid. And right now, the biggest bill is TAXES.
Clear the Deck Very little progress, and I didn’t really write any entries about my little bit of progress. GOAL: write at least 1 entry about my progress, or lack of progress, with this in the coming week. See also “Starting NOW, clean my office for 1/2 hour”.

Clean the rug I did my bare minimum of regular vacuuming, so I met my goal. GOAL: Continue with regular vacuuming for now.

Starting NOW, clean my office for 1/2 hour I only earned 2 stars out of my goal of 5 for the week. GOAL: Let’s see if I can get 3 stars this week.

PRIORITIES FOR THIS WEEK:
(1) Clearing the deck & gathering tax paperwork.
(2) Making some phone calls about realtor, erosion.

Review Goals Weekly Last entry 3/21/10 (2 weeks ago). That’s progress.GOAL: Make an appointment on my calendar for a goal review next Sunday, and keep it.

find a realtor No progress since last review. Master’s Week in Augusta is a good excuse to procrastinate on this goal while working on my other goals.

do my taxes in March No progress since last review, and now it’s April. :( GOAL: Have a folder for gathering Important Tax Papers as I’m working on my other paperwork goals in the coming week.

Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I’m grateful. At last review I wrote that maybe I could try for at least one entry in the coming week, and I made an entry on 3/29/10. GOAL: Make at least one new entry this week.

purge my files This goal is tied in with my “Clear the deck” challenge goal, and no progress on either one since last review.

Stick to my Flylady routines like glue Not much progress since last review. I did return borrowed tables & chairs. This week in flylady: the kitchen. GOALS: (1) Weekly vacuuming (2) Clean the kitchen floor (3) Clean the pollen from the front & back porches.

Control erosion and runoff on my property No entries posted since last review, though I did talk to a few friends and got some ideas and suggestions. One friend actually looked up a state bureau of erosion control, contacted them, and said they would come for free and look at my problem. GOALS: (1) make at least one phone call for information. (2) Find the old quote.

take care of myself—eat right, sleep, exercise No entries since last review, but my hip has recovered, and I have gone walking several times, including yesterday. GOAL: put stars on my calendar for the days that I walk in the coming week.

Each morning write down 3 goals for Today Progress since last review: made entries 3/22, 26, 29 & 30, & 4/5. GOAL: Do this at least 3 more days in the coming week.

Keep on paying my bills on time No progress since last review. GOAL: Make a monthly checklist for paying bills and put it in my flylady control journal. Then pay my bills that are due.

Clear the Deck No progress since the last review. I failed to meet my challenge goal by the deadline April 1, and so I had to walk the plank. GOAL: write more entries about my progress, or lack thereof, in the coming week. At least one entry, let’s say.

Clean the rug No progress since last review. GOALS: just regular vacuuming for right now.

make the 2010 Lenten Season a Season of Transformation I wrote 2 entries since the last review, and this goal is now DONE.

Starting NOW, clean my office for 1/2 hour I’m adding this goal to my weekly review. GOAL: put a star on my calendar this week for each 1/2 hour I spend sorting and purging papers. Aim for at least 5 stars in the coming week.

make the 2010 Lenten Season a Season of Transformation

Yet another new beginning....

Review Goals Weekly Last entry October 14, 2009 (5 months ago). Not good. Let’s see if I can not wait quite so long until the next review.

find a realtor This goal has been added to my “review weekly” list since my last review. I have not written an entry yet. I did call a realtor, but I postponed a meeting with him until after I was done with having people over. It’s time to call him back.

do my taxes in March This goal has been added to my “review weekly” list since my last review. I have not written an entry yet. My plan is to try to accomplish this at the same time that I’m working on my “Clear the deck” challenge goal.

Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I’m grateful. Last entry 2/27/10 (3 weeks ago). Maybe I could try for at least one entry in the coming week.

purge my files Last entry 3/09/10 (1 week ago), about record retention questions. This goal is tied in with my “Clear the deck” challenge goal.

Stick to my Flylady routines like glue Last entry 2/25/10 (3 weeks ago), made right after I hosted my dinner party. The prior entry was way back on 10/06/09 (5 months ago). Not very sticky glue. This goal is important if I am serious about selling my house.

Control erosion and runoff on my property NEW GOAL with 1st entry written 2/4/10, but little progress since then. :(

take care of myself—eat right, sleep, exercise Last entry 3/6/10 (2 weeks ago). My injured hip is still sore, and I haven’t been walking regularly. I did come down with a cold this week, and hope that I’ve gotten over it. At least I’ve been getting lots of sleep lately.

Each morning write down 3 goals for Today In the past week I made entries on Monday and Tuesday. Better than nothing.

Keep on paying my bills on time This goal needs constant attention.

Clear the Deck NEW CHALLENGE GOAL at the start of March, but not a lot of progress since then.

Clean the rug Last entry 2/18/10, when prior to having people over, I borrowed a carpet cleaning machine. I am trying to decide what to do next. It might be a good idea to talk to the realtor about this.

make the 2010 Lenten Season a Season of Transformation I’d like to write an entry on this tonight, but I’m running out of time.

hem Decided this was a relatively low priority right now and took it off the “review weekly” list.

Important Completed Goals:

Host a dinner party

Host my book club again

Why is working on this goal like pulling teeth?

Review Goals Weekly
Why do I have so much trouble with this? I’m determined to at least write something about each of my 11 goals currently tagged “review weekly.”

Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I’m grateful
Made an entry today, my first since October 1. It’s hard for me to do this daily, but I’d be happy to do it at least once a week. It almost always makes me feel better after I’ve taken just a few moments to reflect and then made a gratitude entry here.

purge my files
This goal seems to have become more urgent after discovering what my cats did to my cardboard storage boxes. Can I go through at least one box and purge it this week?

hem
Sigh. I’ve had my skirt with the lining hem pinned and ready to be hemmed all summer long, lying on the ironing board right behind the chair where I’m sitting. It’s a good skirt for autumn. Maybe I can remember to work on it this week, before autumn turns into winter.

Stick to my Flylady routines like glue
Well, I posted some cleaning missions for the kitchen last week, and then barely worked on clearing off the countertop. I think I’ll give my kitchen zone missions another try this week. At least I did vacuum on Monday. Yay!

take care of myself—eat right, sleep, exercise
This goal needs constant attention. I’m trying to eat better, and that’s why I made a goal to make more soup. Between the rain and my walking buddy’s busier schedule, I’ve been slacking off on exercise too. And I’ve been steadily been getting later to bed and later to rise. Maybe some kind of daily chart would help.

Each morning write down 3 goals for Today
Last week I wrote 2 entries under this goal, and that was a helpful start in making some progress last week. Today I’m still working on one of yesterday’s daily goals, ie, writing this very entry reviewing my goals.

Keep on paying my bills on time
This goal isn’t even on my current goal list, but it’s an important thing to keep doing on an on-going basis. I made some important progress lately by getting my taxes filed and paid, but I need to pay some more bills this week.

Clear the Deck
This goal is just keeping the major hotspots as clear as possible. I’ve got work to do on my desk and in the kitchen on the table and the countertop. And after the recent episode with my cats, it would pay to really work hard on keeping all paper clutter put safely away and out of their reach.

Sort through Christmas decorations
This goal has been lingering for a long time with no progress, but a week from next Saturday a friend got me a table at her apartment complex “garage sale”. A great opportunity to get rid of a lot of this stuff before another Christmas rolls around. Maybe someone else can get some use out of it!

Clean the rug
This new goal is at the top of my list, and yet I’m still trying to decide exactly how to go about it. Gotta make a decision, and get moving.

I’ve just discovered why I procrastinate about this goal. It’s exhausting to think of all the things that I want and need to do.
Notes to self:
(a) Babysteps!
(b) Progress, not perfection.

Well, I'm maxed out at 43 Goals this morning...
...and thinking it really is time, right now, to review the situation. Time to give up, purge, consolidate, etc.

Update @11:30am: Running out of time. I’ve marked two goals done, and I think maybe I can complete at least one or two more tonight. Time to go eat some frogs…

Last done: Two months ago...

I think it’s time for reviewing the situation.

The week that was...and plans for next week and beyond...

have people over: I made this into a new challenge goal with a new deadline this week, because the meeting at my house was re-scheduled from April to May. Part of accomplishing this is doing my Flylady missions next week.

track all expenses each day of March I still would like to do this. Have a stack of receipts and bills to work from.

track all expenses each day of February Ditto.

Each morning write down 3 goals for Today: I managed to do this Tuesday through Friday. All during April I’m planning to focus on practicing my 2 new daily habits of (1) opening the mail, and (2) tracking expenses for April.

Have a place for everything and keep everything in its place: This is a new goal as of this week. I found a place for my mail this week. Keep putting my mail in it’s place every day next week.

Clear the Deck: The decks on my kitchen counter and on my office floor are starting to look a little clearer. Maybe all these babysteps are starting to add up.

Keep on paying my bills on time: I’ve got my current bills all together at the start of this month. I want to pay all my bills in the coming week. I’m also working on a monthly checklist to put into my flylady control journal to remind me to pay all my bills each month.

Do the Flylady daily missions: I really want to work on this in the coming week.

keep in touch with family: My mother’s birthday is this week. I need to work on this in the coming week.

Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I’m grateful Made entries on Sun., Mon., Wed., Thur., and Sat. in the past week. That feels pretty good.

practice mindfulness : Made 1 entry today under this goal.

Embrace impermanence : Made an entry here about attending a funeral last week.

Stick to my goals: I hope reviewing my goals will help me stick to my goals.

give a gazillion cheers : made an entry here to celebrate giving over 4000 cheers.

give myself a pep talk : I’ve given myself 3 pep talks in the past week. They seem to help sometimes.

celebrate taking baby steps when anything bigger feels daunting : I’ve done this twice in the past week.

Review Goals Weekly: I’m doing this right now.

Shamelessly ask my 43 friends to help support and sponsor Segsy in the 2008 Take Steps for Crohn’s and Colitis Walk.: Maybe I myself can make a contribution after I get my bills paid next week and see how much money I have left.

I did this tonight...

This week I made some progress with a new goal, “Do Flylady Missions”.

And I did better on an old goal, “Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I’m grateful”.

And I completed my goal to “track all expenses for each week of January”, and I edited an older goal to create “track all expenses for each week of February”.

Next week I want to continue with Flylady and Daily Gratitude, and also focus on bill-paying and expense tracking. My progress will depend on how well I’m feeling, since I still am sick with shingles, so I’ll have to not forget “Take care of myself”.

New Isabella has gotten 48 cheers on this goal.
