so I’m gonna close it out. Plus I’m now keeping track of everything I spend to help myself be more accountable with where my money is going.

I'm doing well with this 9 months ago

but could do better. I have printed off all of my bank statements for the last 18 months so I can review where my money is going and see if there is any fat I can trim. I’m sure there is (such as my daily drip coffee at Starbucks).

Anyway, I’m looking forward to accelerating my savings and debt reduction in the coming months. I have paid off one bill last month and the car will be paid off in just a few more payments.

Ok, so I didn't do 2 years ago

so well with this one today. I spent $100 on concert tickets for my son and myself. I do have some money coming to me so I can pay them off that way. This is actually something my son and I do to bond with each other so there is a purpose. Still I didn’t need to spend the money and I have been doing so well. Funny thing we don’t know the lineup yet for the show. I read somewhere on line though that the Smashing Pumpkins were headlining and I have wanted to see them for years.

I did go out the other day and by some stuff for camping, but I was able to buy what I need at my local thrift store. I spent a fraction of what I would have spent in a retail store and it is all in great condition.

My boyfriend has actually commented that he has noticed a difference in that I am not bringing lots of bags of stuff home that are not needed.

It feels really good!

I am supposed to get a tax return but already spent it 2 years ago

I have to pay for a trip for my son to go to disneyland with the school band band (he got a scholarship for part which is nice), had to get a stereo for the car my boyfriend bought me (50 miles a day of just road noise is too much for me), new battery for the new car today, new suit for the son (needed it for DeMolay) and I swear there is something else. The good thing is I am not accummulating any new debt since I have the money from my tax return but I feel a little guilty spending the money since I have been working so hard not to spend money. My balances are reducing on my credit cards so that is a good thing as well. I am in the process of preparing for a garage sale and/or sell things on Craigslist so I can make some more money to pay off some more things.

I have almost completely cut out lunches out and either have food in the fridge at work or am bringing food from home to eat. I have stopped getting my morning coffee at Starbucks and now brew a pot at home and bring a small thermos so I can have some when I get to work. You’d think living in the Northwest, we’d have great coffee here at work, but no it really sucks. It comes in little premeasured bags and is just so weak. I can barely drink it. I have to be pretty desperate.

I am staying out of the stores where I have a tendancy to spend money. Since I am losing weight I am starting to fit into some of my old clothes again (that are still very stylish) so I wont have to shop. I have a friend who lost a bunch of weight and can’t fit into some of her old stuff that so she is going to be bringing them for me to look through.

I haven’t really put anymore into savings but have been sending more money to my creditors to hopefully pay things off sooner.

This one is getting easier 2 years ago

every day. When I am contemplating a purchase now I think about all of the other stuff I have that is not getting used and do I really need another thing cluttering up my life. It is working well.

I have been doing really good with this 3 years ago

goal. I am avoiding the places where I tend to spend money on myself and have bought very little for myself as I am out Christmas shopping. I am doing a good job and keeping things under control. Now I just have to keep it going.

I bought nothing! 3 years ago

I was at the mall with a friend over the weekend. We found all sorts of sales on shoes and clothes and I did not buy one thing. I was so proud of myself.

keeping track of my spending 3 years ago

I have been doing this for 4 days now but writing down every penny I spend. It is very interesting to see where your money is going and where changes can be made.
