I am so glad that I went. Him and I didn’t spend much one on one time together, but there will still be plenty of wonderful memories shared from our trip. I even took about 500 photos.

I bought tickets tonight for my son and myself to see them. We saw them over the summer at the Sub Pop Anniversary show, but this one will be different since they are the headliners. It should be lots of fun and a perfect opportunity to make positive memories with my son.
yesterday. We spent the day basking in the sun – a little too much maybe. The sunscreen failed us. We listened to some really great bands that we know and love and heard some new ones we hadn’t heard before.
My son went off and one point and watch a band by himself and really enjoyed it immensely.
Seeing the Flight of the Conchords was the highlight of our night. It was truly an enjoyable day and great memories. No photos though. They would not allow us to bring cameras into the venue. :o(
we attended the Hot Java Cool Jazz concert at the Paramount theater in Seattle. Five Jazz Bands from local high schools performed a few songs each. It was very enjoyable. We had a great time.
First he helped me make the stir fry for dinner then later he helped me make the Christmas sugar cookies. Now we are going to go decorate them and maybe eat them all up… yummy!
rice crispy treats tonight. It was a little lighthearted fun in the kitchen together after the stressful few days I have had and I haven’t been feeling that great either so it took my mind off how I was feeling for just a few minutes.
We made the Christmas ones with the trees and the stars and we were out of green food coloring so we used red (I don’t recommend – they turn out pink – hehe). Anyway, we had a fun time mixing things up and goofing around – one thing I probably don’t do enough of. I have come to the realization that I don’t let loose enough and I am wound so tight I am probably going to snap if I keep at the pace I am at. Anyway, it was fun and I want to do more stuff like this with him. I enjoy his company. He is such a good kid. I took a picture and as you can see they are a little pinkish but it didn’t affect their flavor – they are yummy!
I wanted to take him to dinner to celebrate and all of us including the BF were going to go.
He had gone with his dad earlier in the day for lunch and was only gone for about 2 hours and then came home. When he got home he went straight back onto his computer to play his game (World of Warcraft). I let him play on the weekends but take his wireless internet card away during the week so that it doesn’t get in the way with schoolwork.
Anyway about time to leave for dinner and I went it to let him know. He started to have attitude with me and wanted 10 more minutes to finish something up. I told him were ready. He started to argue that wasn’t it his birthday and couldn’t he do whatever he wanted to do on this birthday? and I said no we had already planned to go for a nice dinner and he needed to get off the computer NOW. The boyfriend started to get very uncomfortable and started to back out of going with us. I told him I really would like him to go so lets go. My son is sulking at this point. We all get in the car and go to the restaurant. My sons mood changes for the better as soon as we get there. I tell them it’s his birthday. He’s a little embarrased but laughs it off. We all have a great time and the food’s great. The waiter brings him a delicious ice cream treat and it turns out it was the dessert he was going to order off the menu anyway so he is very happy. All in all it was nice evening even though it started out bad. We all had a nice time and the positive memory even included my BF this time.
We went to Endfest, a music festival put on by a local radio station and saw a bunch of bands together. The venue kind of sucked (they had it in the parking lot at Qwest Field where the Seahawks play and there were acres of concrete and nowhere to sit down) but the bands were great and we had a great time just spending time together and enjoying the music.
We went to Bumbershoot (the local arts and music festival in Seattle) and saw a few bands, had a nice picnic lunch, saw some comedy and just had a really great time. We topped the evening off with some burgers at Dicks Drive In or our way back home. It was a really great day. Not one argument, not one disagreement. Just a good day… :o)
and went to lunch, a movie and for ice cream. We had a great time. We have a couple outings to concerts planned for later in the summer. Should be fun and very memorable.
