Done! 2 days ago

99. Visqueen
100. Vampire Weekend
101. Phoenix
102. 30 Seconds to Mars (really did not like them at all)
Metric (x2)
Muse (x4) and I bought more tickets for a show in April!

I think I will close this one out now. I like keeping track of the shows I go to so I may add a new goal just to keep track of them.

More... 2 months ago

96. Black Eyed Peas*
97. Dehli 2 Dublin
98. Ben Harper & Relentless7
Pearl Jam

*Went to Bumbershoot with some friends kind of spur of the moment. I was pretty clear I wanted to stay until closing and see Modest Mouse and Franz Ferdinand, mentioned it several times. One of the woman in our group had to leave early for work the next day and didn’t bother to say anything to us until an hour before she wanted to leave. Pretty crappy because I had to pay $50 to get in to see a band I didn’t really care to see. Note to self, I will not carpool next time.

We saw bits and pieces of other sets, but I am not counting them . We saw Estelle, The Walkmen and Joe Bonamassa. We missed Nada Surf because they were playing at the same time as Beck and I had never seen Beck before.

I'm very excited 16 months ago

because a little over 2 weeks from now I should be able to close this one out. We are going to go see a whole bunch of bands – including a couple on my list. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!!

More tickets 18 months ago

I was on a local radio station’s website and looking to see if they had announced when their summer festival would be. Unfortunately I don’t listen to the station as much as I used to so I didn’t know if the festival had been announced yet. Anyway, while I was perusing the website for concert listings I came across the Sub Pop Records 20th Anniversary Festival and noticed a group my son has been dying to see, Flight of the Conchords, was going to be there. We missed them over Memorial Day weekend at a different festival in Eastern Washington. I bought us a couple of tickets. The radio station’s website said the Shins were playing, but I didn’t see that on Sub Pop’s website. We will get to see Mudhoney. His first experience with live music was seeing Mudhoney and some other great bands at the EMP groundbreaking ceremony when he was 5. I even still have the poster. We will also be seeing Seaweed, a band I introduced him to, and I graduated from high school with one of the band members. Iron and Wine will also be there. There are some other bands we haven’t heard of, but that is part of the fun of going to a show like this. The festival is actually 2 days long, but we are only going to attend one day of the festival. We are really looking forward to it.

Tickets purchased 18 months ago

I bought tickets for me and my son for the local arts and music festival on Labor Day Bumbershoot and we are planning on seeing Beck, Kinski, Nada Surf, The Offspring, Minus the Bear (again!!!) and Bedouin Soundclash. There are other bands as well that will be playing. This is just the early line up. I always buy my tickets early and at a discount. Yay! It will be fun. This also falls under the goal of create more positive memories with my son because this is something we enjoy doing together.
