be a professional photographer

professional may be stretching it a bit but so far I’ve had three actual, paying jobs (most excitingly, one wedding), and currently have two voluntary jobs for the student magazine of my university and the magazine of my faculty. Although (seeing as how I’m studying law) photography probably never will be my main vocation I’m starting to see a real possibility for having it as a creative and sometimes profitable hobby especially come the summer vacation.

I am a photographer for a magazine (circulation ca 15,000) but it’s not really on a professional basis (I get perhaps just under $13,000/year plus living but it’s somewhat mandatory, i.e. military service) so I’d like to get a real job, on a magazine rather than a newspaper or, perhaps, on a more “artsy” basis…
