Stop procrastinating

Well...  — 2 years ago

OK I’m not procrastinating about a lot of things (work, work, kids, house, work, house, kids, work…) but I am still procrastinating about my body and health. Overweight, STILL smoking and taking very little exercise. When do I think I’ll do something about this? When I’m dead? No cheers for me on this one.

The five page to-do list  — 2 years ago

Have just re-read the five page to do list I wrote on Friday. (11 point font – no kidding). Have completed about three pages of it. Perhaps I don’t have a prevarication problem, just a really busy life.
Feeling pleased with myself. Couple of days hard work and I think I’m all that.
Need to keep the pace up.

43 reasons not to work  — 2 years ago

Weellll, I was making progress, but I’ve been on holiday twice and had to take time with the kids off school for the summer, and the garden needed doing and I had a little trouble with my back. And another 43 reasons for doing very little. Been a bit of a weird time – like I’ve stalled because I’m getting scared about starting the MSc. However, today I’ve really got to grips with some stuff and I HAVE to work really hard tomorrow because I’ve pupils coming on Saturday and deadlines looming. So maybe the stall is over. Just keep swimming.

Getting better  — 3 years ago

I think I’m making progress on this goal. I am winding myself up ready for university again this Autumn, and I’ve lots of work to get through, plus all the kids things and the crumbling house. I’m too scared and excited not to get on with it.

Pretty good progress  — 3 years ago

Don’t think I’m procrastinating as much. I’m just getting on with what needs to be done, in an order that suits me. I am spending a lot of time doing 43 things, but it’s quite a good way to wind down at the end of the day, and saves money I’d spend on analysis.
It’s helping me not to put myself under so much pressure about working every minute. I actually get more done.
I’m such a predictable rebel…

My procrastination levels are varying a lot. I’ve finished two projects this week and am about to work on a third. I haven’t sent off for the visas for my trip with my mum though. Set myself this afternoon to do this – I will feel better for not having it on my mind.

Fits and starts  — 3 years ago

Once I get going just try stopping me. But getting going…I seem to procrastinate forever. This isn’t quite fair; in the last year I’ve helped a kid out of a bad case of bullying, continued raising a family, changed my job, written 13 short stories (but I haven’t tried to get them published). I haven’t earned enough money. I’m still not doing this. I get bored easily and there are always so many other interesting things to do…
