When I move, my back make the sorts of noise you hear when jointing a chicken.
When I’m off working during the week, I cycle for about an hour and a half each day. This has made me more fit in terms of strength and cardio-vascular stamina, but hasn’t done a lot for my flexibility or core stability. I really need to do something about keeping moving before I set like a blobby old jelly.

Did I do it? Course not. I haven’t done the exercises since I wrote the entry. Went on holiday and forgot about every responsibility including back exercises.
Starting again in the morning. Resorting to a star chart and asking small daughter for praise when I suceed. Feel pathetic.
Started the day with back exercises to increase flexibility and also went swimming.
Then spent the afternoon overdoing it in the garden and am now aching (pulsating) and feel the stiffness coming on. Will try ice and hope I’ll walk tomorrow.
I love being active but I always overdo it. No discipline.
Got help with a great physio on NHS with life long back problem. Now I just need to do the exercises.
I commit to doing the exercises twice a day for the next two weeks. By that time they should be a habit – and I won’t have to return to the physio even stiffer than I was last time.
