nitsan has written 1 entry about this goal

this is the toughest of them all

must tell you that it is hardly in my nature to put things in theiur designated places. i usually simply remember where i put things and that’s that. it’s just that my DH doesn’t. and he suffers dearly from my moving things around from “their place”. “but they do not HAVE a place!” i would say..

this has put some strain on the relationship i can tell you..
we are two different people. with different ideas as to what “ordered” is. i consider a decluttered place “ordered” and he considers a messed up place but with everything “in it’s designated location” ordered.

so we made a pact. no more clutter, and no more orphan items. we need to work very hard for that, and keep notifying eachother when there are new things to go into new places. but i can say that in 5 years of relationship, the last 6 months are the best.

tips and tricks? get many lovely matching and tagged boxes from IKEA and sort like crazy… :)

one last thing, i did this when we moved. i can’t even begin imagine how it would be like to do this with an already messy place…

at any rate: definitely worth it! GOOD LUCK!!
