Yesterday I had another lesson with one the koto players in the group, at her home. I learned we live in the same neighborhood. She taught me the intricacies of the japanese scale of the koto, how to tune it, and prepare it for shipping to America. We practiced a very difficult piece and I’m so happy that I took this instrument up. I has already given me such joy!

My koto sensei generously gave a koto to me as a gift. Once I return to the states I want to continue to practice but with others, and perhaps children how to play.
