Well, I fell about 25 books short of my goal. I think in my favor I spent a lot of time reading magazines that would have helped. I should have started earlier, and kept a more constant pace. I was kinda surprised I was able to read so many books in december. Reaching for the goal has helped me get back into a reading habit ( I hope). It definitely got me to start reading a wider variety of books and forced me to look for interesting reads.
For 2006 I plan to try again. I know there are some MAJOR obstacles in the way, but I think I can do it. I think a little forward planning would help, a list of books I plan to read will help me get started. That way when I’m done, I can just grab the next on the list, as opposed to the debating I did this time around. I think I’ll try and find different subject that I haven’t explored before for the next round!

The continuing evolution of Remo is enjoyable for me. This seemed like it was setting things up more than anything else. Looking forward to see how they push the other ideas forward.

The Sequel to VVH vol 1. A good read. Funny and well written.

On my way to a healthier new year, this was a good read to remind me of the principals of good physical fitness, from exercise to nutrition.

The book that started it all, the legend of Doc Samson. The secret of the Red Death leads Doc to the secret that will allow more adventures of the future. Establishes the basics well.

An interesting read on surviving an outdoors accident. Very interesting dicussions on Hypothermia and Hyperthermia. Also details the importance of a good attitude and information with practical skills. He did an excellent discussion of survival kits, what they should contain and WHY, a part that most books tend to gloss over. An excellent read.

I wish I had the Industrial Saga, but I skipped ahead to this one. Lots of changes that I missed but they filled me in pretty well. Continuing the tone of a smarter more interesting Remo. His handling of the re-negotiation of the contract was excellent. The overall story was ok, but fit in nicely in terms of developing Remo.

A little reading to help me think about where to focus my life in 2006. Michael Gleb points us to the master for building genius in all our lives. Ways to open our minds and our lives to a bigger world. An interesting set of exercies to help with the process. I may try more of them in the year to come.

One of the great authors of the mystery genre. One of the first to bring the pulp novels of the era to literature, changing the way the work is respected. The beginnings of the hard boiled mystery and what a start. The Continental Op, Sam Spade and Nick and Nora Charles, the best of the bunch, with a style that gave birth to a genre.

Getting started with Pregnancy books, and this was a nice one. A nice guide to getting started in a pregnancy from a Father’s POV. Some good tips on ways to prep and prepare rather than the regular “What’s going on in your body” approach of Women’s pregnancy books.
