After 9 months of consistent exercise, I feel comfortable closing this one down in favor of some new exercise goals. I haven’t gotten to where I want my weight or physical actives to be at yet, but I can start making goals that are more targeted towards those needs. I think I’ve found I can handle a regular exercise habit, I just need to work finding specific goals that I can handle.

Remixing exercise  — 1 year ago

I’ve veered off from the direction I was headed, but still making good progress. The weekly runs are improving and I ran a 5k today in 37 minutes. I have a good deal more training to do and I would like to run a sub 30 5k. I’m pretty happy with the running and cardio improvements, but I need to figure out what I’m doing for strength and muscle endurance.

I’ve found I do well with endurance events. Not only is my running improving, but I’m also doing well with my pushup counts. I’ve got a routine with 5 sets of 25 pushups and 25 situps with 4 rounds of 3 pullups. I think I’d like to add a bit more strength building rather than all this endurance building.

The workouts continue. I’ve found a nice set of body weight exercises I can run in a circuit. I’m trying to build strength and endurance, which is a bit cross purposes, but more realistic I think in terms of fitness and health.

I’ve also started running this week… well more walking than running, but I can already see my run times increasing, compared to my walk. Looking forward to pressing forward with a new habit.

I’ve started working out every morning. I’ve been good every morning since the 13th. 2 weeks and I can feel the progress I’ve made. My next step is getting a bit more organized in my plan, but keep it reasonable. I need to make sure I’m getting a full body exercise plan. I’ve got some good basic resistance training, I just need to add some cardio and some flexibility training
