own a house

So this is worth doing, but only because it’s better than paying rent at this point, and because it makes my wife happy :-). I like the extra space, but the extra hassle and expense is a pain.

Someday I want to rent again, but from a holding company that I own :-)

As in outright, no debt. It’s going to take a little while, but the goal is to have it done in 5 years, tops. Of course, we have to figure out how much house we can afford, find a house, get a mortgage, pay it off, etc., but I think it’s all doable.

I’m definitely debt-averse (as in never had any, never want any), but I’m willing to do it for a bit so that we don’t keep throwing our housing money down the rat-hole labeled “Rent”.
