So I completely forgot to put up my apple pie! I made this ages ago and just didn’t get around to posting it because we were moving. It turned out very good, it was a little tart, but once again, my husband thought it was just right. I burned the crust a little too, I had a lot of excess dough. It also caved in on one side a bit, but you can barely tell. I think it’s pretty good for my first pie.

Some of my favourite cookies are the double chocolate cookies they have at Subway, so I decided to try out the recipe for myself and have some of my own around all the time. They were a success, I made them with M&M’s but next time want to try them with white chocolate chips. Only thing wrong I found was they turned out a little too crunchy for my taste, doesn’t mean they aren’t going to get eaten though! Next time I’ll just cook them for less time according to the recipe I have. I’ll probably make more in a couple of days.
Right now I’m working on making apple pie, it’s my favourite kind, and I’ve never made a pie before. I’ll be back later with that…
Tried these last night for the first time ever. Never really thought that they would be so simple. I had all the right ingredients just lying around and figured it’d be perfect.
Initially I just wanted to try something new with ground beef besides making burgers or spaghetti with meat sauce; boring. So I looked up some recipes on marthastewart.com and was surprised that it looked so simple, though it does take a while because you have to make the dough and all.
I had made tortillas before, so making the dough was nothing new, just use butter instead of shortening. The dough was a lot easier to roll out than tortilla dough too. And the filling was simple. The recipe I got made about 8. I made some black beans and rice and guacamole for the side and the husband loved them! Next time I want to make them spicier though :)
Here are my tortillas I made the other day at 6AM. I’ve been making them for a while, and had “make my own tortillas” as one of my goals a while ago, and then achieved it (obviously). But I finally have a picture and decided to post it here. Yummm.
So the other day I made my famous Garlic Basil Shrimp, my husband’s favourite dish of mine. Nothing new, but I had a bunch of basil left over and couldn’t figure out what to do with it. Soooo, I made a vinaigrette for our salad for todays dinner, and it was a success! Oh and I also put some on our sandwiches for lunch which was really good as well.
I made a huge batch of my salsa yesterday (again, nothing new, but it’s one of my favourite things to make) and then a fruit salad which I have never made before. I know it’s not really complex of a recipe, maybe not even considered a recipe. But yet again, my husband is just devouring it and wants it around all the time.
I tried making Alfredo today. Was a bit grainy, I know I could have made it better. I think I will try for it again, along with lasagna one of these days. Probably after I move, blegh.
I tried making lasagna for the first time this weekend. I messed up on one part of the recipe but it really didn’t matter in the end. Then after trying it I realized I had put too much ricotta in it, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But I will definitely try making it better next time, probably try again this week, ha.
