,..with my women friends. And not that hard either. I figured out on the weekend what to make: stew. Then Monday night after work I did alll the chopping and sauteeing veggies. When Tues night came around, it was practically done and I had time to do those last minute things like scooping the kitty litter. We had lots of good long conversation and it was a lot of fun.

My group of 5 or 6 women friends from the neighborhood is coming over Tuesday for dinner and catch-up time. I haven’t decided what I’ll make yet – something simple, I guess, since it’s a weeknight.
Again, it’s not exactly what I had in mind….that’ll happen eventually though. M is moving in with me in January and it’d be easier to host dinner as a couple. Dinner parties seem to have a couply dynamic oftentimes. Maybe that’s why I haven’t had one in years, being single & living with a roommmate.
My friends had their 2nd baby so I signed up to be one of the people to bring them dinner. They were game for me to stay and eat with them, so I really did it up: homemade stew, cornbread muffins, salad, wine, and for dessert, custard with raspberries. Yum.
But it was just the three of us…I still want to do the thing I originally envisioned which is to have 4 or 5 people over so we all all sit around my dining table and talk about interesting stuff and eat yummy food.
