Kept getting this one wrong…it’s still not how I want it, but I’ve gotten to the point where anything i do just makes it worse.
I can’t figure out how to draw hair. Any pointers?

Farside comic (Larson)
Caption: “Other cities get giant gorillas or dinosaurs. ...But what do we get?”
Got proportions wrong…Penguin should be much larger. Left out lots of details (another man fleeing…windows…where the penguin destroyed the building)
I wanted to practice drawing noses, so I googled “nose” and came across “The Portrait of Bach That Was Lost In World War Two”
I believe the portrait which I used was painted by a man named Haussmann…but the site bores me and I don’t want to read to find out.

there, you find out
Everybody talks about how difficult it is to draw hands…I did this in about 15 minutes, and while it’s not perfect, I’m pretty proud of it. A bit too light for the camera to get a good shot of.
I liked it because it was a fair-skinned woman’s hand and a darker man’s hand…me n marty…so I drew a little squiggle on the man’s thumb (marty’s butter knife scar) and wrote him a note and made us a romantic moment. He said “aww” and went back to browsing the internet. :)

Photographic Print, “Loving Hands” by Christine Ellis.
This was an attempt to recreate somebody else’s drawing of an elf (i believe that’s an elf…elves have pointy ears and girly features, right?)
Ended up looking much different than the original drawing. Different expression and tilt of the head, and a different face…but it actually looks like a face, and I didn’t think I could do that.
The original drawing I found at www.elfwood.com. It is Venomous, by Adele Lorienne Sessler.
Without any art classes (beyond 6th grade)
But I can only draw a picture of a picture…I don’t understand perspective, form, motion, whatever…enough to create a unique scene from imagination.
I want to be able to put my mind on the paper.
