Quit Smoking

I survived the weekend. I was able to go out to the regular hangout with the same people and hang out on the patio without caving in and smoking. I don’t consider 9 full days too much since i’ve quit before for longer, so once my 30 days (the day of my birthday) is over with, I will have a better sense of it all.

Its totally worth it to quit. I have great people to look up to who don’t smoke and friends whom I admire with all my heart that wished I would quit. Hopefully I can be an example for other people. It’s nice to have will power with something. Now what to do about the sweets …..

I went to my gyno the other day and everytime I go, I cringe at the fact that i’ll get lectured for smoking while on the pill. I am young, and I should never feel invincible to the fact that just because i’m under 35 and smoke and i’m on the pill that I will be fine.

This new gyno I met with presented some new information in regards to HPV and cervical cancer. She presented it in a way which I didn’t feel lectured and was highly informational.

I have a follow-up soon and I have decided to quit. I have tried to quit before, and was succesful for only so long.

I’m giving myself 30 days of no smoking to say I actually quit. This means going out with friends who smoke, living next to smoking neighbors, and even my boyfriend whom I live with smoking. Im thankful he was always on me for smoking too much. He smokes rarely and it has never bothered me.

August 17th 2008 was my first day, and just by chance, day 30 will be my 22nd birthday. What a nice present to myself. Better off this way, anyway. I’m glad that I do have friends who don’t smoke.

Changes need to be made and I need to stay healthy. I think my face is clearing up already. Haha. It also made me break out, or maybe it irritated my skin. I dunno.

I feel better already.
