and counting

i have had 4 lessons so far, and counting!
“twinkle twinkle little star!” my first complete song.
i feel the joy of a child when i play.
maybe it is because i did play for less than one year when i was in the 4th grade.
every time i have a lesson, i think, “i am making music!!!!” it is an entirely new experience for me and i am relishing in it.
i even want to use this new learning adventure to ground me when i move to South America, by finding a teacher and getting a place to live near that teacher so i will have some anchor upon arrival. :) this is also to ensure that i continue my lessons without too much interruption. wish me luck!
important note for those of you who are also beginners: the chin rest is very important. make sure to get one that fits your body like a glove. it is worth the extra cost because it is so much more comfortable.

i thought i found a class… but not yet. on my trip to argentina i was inspired several times by violinists. i met the electric violinist that actually took the time and patience (with my lousy spanish) to talk with me on the subject. it was thrilling!!! he had been playing for over 20 years. i actually contemplated buying a violin (electric or otherwise) because of the affordability in Argentina. there were street jazz violin musicians as well. “inspiration’s what you are to me. inspiration – look and see.”
